Lucky Luke @ Lost in Space (Episode 1)

To celebrate Avantroots' 5th anniversary, we've set out to complete the always difficult task of selecting the best tracks that embody the label’s trademark mix of deep house, electro, dubstep, idm, and ambient. The title of the compilation, Waves, is no accident and further serves to reaffirm the label's mantra, “Past + Present = Future.” Avantroots, just like a wave, moves forwards or backwards but always returns to its original position, its state of rest, its roots.

The 14-track compilation, featuring some of our favorite selections, also serves as an introduction for those who don't know us yet. Waves takes a peek at the label’s future with three tracks of new and unreleased material by the newly-signed How Green, Sensual Physics, and Avantroots founders, Pulshar.

What's more, you can ride the wave of anticipation into upcoming releases with the included continuous mix by Pulshar--truly an indication of the best that is yet to come.

Pulshar - Jungle Fever

This is a special release no doubt. Deepchord, Deepnaut, Pulshar and Braulio Lam were specifically chosen to head up this treasured task of taking Linval's 'World Crisis' into their realms.

'World Crisis' is Linval's message and it is as definitive as ever. The overall traditional dub concept is to feature different voices over the same instrumental where this, flips the script and each version has a different electronic music producer add their talents to create their own signature account.

The Deepnaut version shimmers in a euphoric glow that covers you like a sun on the beach in summer. Linval's voice is front and center and one could say this may be the most single oriented as it uses the most vocals of any of the renditions here.

Braulio Lam's submission has all the makings of a classic styled dub track. While the beat is transcendent, everything else is processed in a new school way. And the technique is next level to be clear.

Next is Deepchord's version. To say this is the deepest and most techno might not be much of a surprise. The groove is addictive and the chords sampled into the rhythm while the melody ebbs and flows are pure magic.

Lastly, Pulshar breaks things down to the starkest of the choices and one of the most hypnotic. Pablo Bolivar and Sergio Sainz Vidal from Pulshar have a knack for injecting some dark and deep island vibes to the electronic scene.

The artwork respects the history of dub culture while advancing the application as it uses AI generated images combined with human elements.

We are really proud and honored to present ESPECTRUM, a year-long effort to put together a compilation of the best Dub Techno. The idea was simple, but ambitious: ask some of our favorite artists for one track to epitomize Dub Techno—the style of music we’ve loved and continued to develop since our birth as producers and a label. With a very precise idea of what we wanted to collect, the compilation was carefully built with hypnotic, obscure, dense, and magical sounds with an eternal hook.

These are the kind of tracks that will never lose their appeal, because they go above and beyond labels, styles, and trends, resisting the passage of time. After the first tracks starting coming in, the idea grew more and more special, and the concept even stronger. We knew we were onto something really big. And, finally, here it is.

This is the second 12” EP that closes The Avantroots Dub Techno Compilation ESPECTRUM II

The first track from Pulshar since 2018, “Accept Fate”, is a dreamy ambient dub track with a heavy reggae dub influence that could work as the background sound for an eerie island.

Biodub’s “Unterfluss” is an ambient dub track that evolves progressively and drags you into a restless and magnetic atmosphere.

The dusty, uneasy and strangely sexy “Spacechord” from Heavenchord is an hypnotic ambient dub track inherited from dense atmospheres.

And to close this excellent compilation, none other than Julian Perez delivering an impeccable and elegant dub techno track to fill the dance floor with class.
