"Now is a time of change. From the evolution of my label Bassic Records into Stone Seed, right through to the intensities of global current affairs and so much in between. My 333 mix is a marker of this change, of growth, but also a reminder to make sure one takes the time to feel what it really means to be human.

Creating this journey has in itself, been such an incredible journey. Fulfilling the 333 mix for Flow Music allowed me to dig deep into my collection and present angles of my sound that more rarely see the sunlight, but resonate with me so deeply. The canvas of 3 hours and 35 minutes allowed me to express energies of euphoric electronica, through deep progressive techno, psychedelic prog-house and an extensive emotive spectrum of electronic music.

Flow Music has been showing immense support to the Australian and global music communities since early 2020, intertwining our island region with the rest of the world. I'm grateful for their work and to have been given the opportunity to showcase my craft with them.

Mainz rooted duo Matchy and Bott serve up three dancefloor heaters for their “Battle Boii” EP.
A traveling bassline opens up the eponymous track, while dramatic synth leads slowly unfold into a dreamy, laid back melody. The ascending groove is slow paced yet intricate, constructing a perfect setting for subtle transitions. On the other side of the melodic spectrum, Ocean surprises with a juxtaposition of gloom and wandering indie vocals. Playful harmonic keys alternate dark synths, forming a looming, ever-approaching backdrop that’s a perfect tension builder. Enrolled for the remix, Lars Moston injects more bass into Ocean’s already high-strung framework. Distorting the original vocals and pairing them with equally contorted synths, the track comes as a powerful floor mover that’s equally dancy as the original.

The next chapter: After running  the Teanage Mutants project solo for the last five years, they recently reunited as a duo. But as the best things come in threes, they collaborated with Spanish producer EdOne for their upcoming 4-track ep "Chapter Two", which has been released via Stil vor Talent. ‘Glutes’ is peak-time material without being overly fast or chaotic, the energy instead coming from the transportive arrangement and emotive melodic content. The same can be said for Bäumel’s ‘Surge’ on Kompakt, an anthem in the sets of Tale Of Us last year which led to this release.

The title track rises and falls, surging with wide-sweeping synth notes and a steady rhythm to anchor the waves. An infectious refrain pulls you further in and, right on cue, the kick drum continues to beat the sweet spot. ‘Engage’ is filled with similarly subtle details, uplifting arpeggios and atmospheric reverb. Half-way through the melody bursts into life, shining brightly through the haze and creating one of those moments of release that make the Afterlife sound work so well on a dancefloor.

On his sixth album, The Arc of Tension, the Berlin based DJ, label owner and producer OLIVER KOLETZKI yet again presents his remarkable vision of contemporary electronic music, while he assumes the role of a storyteller. The Arc of Tension speaks to its listener as a singular, self contained work, which communicates by way of its natural flow and arc of suspense. The latter is mirrored not only in the multifarious narrative of the actual album, but can also be understood as evidence for its creator's long musical history. 'Planetarium' exemplifies, moreover, that a fusion of delicate musicality and sheer force leads to impressively ecstatic results. Ultimately, what lingers is the feeling that we are being granted a deep glance into the innermost being of an outstanding artist.

AVAXA plays melodic house and techno until her fingers bleed, leading you through expansive mountainsides and dark corridors. 

Purple Sneakers described AVAXA as “one of those enigmatic artists that imbues meaning to every detail as to create a mythology around their music.”  Fixed in the search for the new sound; she is always looking ahead to see how the aural sphere can be reinvented. “I hear a lot of this amazing dark, industrial techno in Berlin, but I think it can be important to combine that with the soft, melodic sounds that engage with you, that connect with you. No sound exists in isolation, it’s about creating a cohesive experience” 

AVAXA has played at renowned venues such as Keller Kulb (Berlin), Capulet (Brisbane), Circus and Day Spa (Melbourne)and festivals like Jungle Love, Yonder, Ethereal Valley and Bambozilled. She has returned to Australia after playing shows in Germany and Austria for the innovative Ars Electronica Festival.
