Old live recording I just found on my hard drive... Again, just me playing through reams of eclectic records @ F L ō K bar in Manchester's Northern Quarter just over a year ago. I remember having taken this picture after the session ended prematurely as some drunken fools locked their mate into the old bank vault in the basement. The fire brigade had to be called out to free him. Nobody was hurt, but the bar owner had to pay a hefty fine for not sealing off the locking mechanism to prevent this happening!

Timofey is a vinyl collector and DJ from St. Petersburg, a resident of the Kazan BNF community and the ex-Petersburg CREWQ formation (currently based in Tbilisi).
"On New Year's Eve 2022/2023 the author managed to break his leg and was confined to his apartment for quite a long time. After I put down a few extra pillows on my chair, I began to practice mixing records in a sitting position. I recorded an almost three-hour session then cut out the best part from it, which I present as a podcast. Many thanks to Borya Nikitin for mastering and to my wife Ilona for love and patience! ❤️ "

For the 54th Avenue Red Podcast we welcome a truly talented, hard-working and well-respected veteran of the underground music scene - Andrew Duke from Halifax in Nova Scotia, Canada. Andrew is a music collector, DJ, artist, remixer, sound designer, radio/mix show host and has also been writing about music since 1981.

Andrew Duke In The Mix is his mixshow, which began way back in 1987 during the emergence of true House & Techno initially as a weekly radio show on CKDU 88.1FM Halifax NS Canada and ran through until 2004. He has continued the show independently since then to this very day on various platforms.

As a producer, Andrew had a very nice record out on Own Jay's Batti Batti imprint, which comes with a remix from XDB. Well worth tracking down a copy! In this explosive mix of raw 80's Electro/Freestyle/Hip-House, Andrew has made 7 edits especially for this smoking hot mix for Avenue Red.
