Didn't suggest an obvious starting point so I took the opportunity to experiment and constructed everything using two instances of Dust, granular synth from SoundMorph. Everything starts with samples, I did use a couple that come bundles with the software but mostly plundered my previous projects and experiments. I also added parts of the following field recordings of toads from freesound:

Although the construction process was different I still assembled all the elements, mapped my physical MIDI controls and recorded everything in one live take. I used two instances of Dust so I could add delay effects to some but not all of the components.

Repose is an ambient experiment created with the intention of aiding sleep and meditation. The music is meant to replace the space in our mind taken up by thoughts anxiety and worry. 

I calibrated my instrument’s tuning to 432hz, which has indeed given it a different feel. However, I cannot say with scientific or historical confidence that tuning in that way is truly more beneficial to mind body or spirit. I can say that the long-form music contained in this album easily disappears into the background along with the over active mind. 

A field recording from the forest has also been buried within to subtly keep the listener grounded as not to float too far away. 

For those like me who have trouble with sleep or meditation, this album could prove to be a beneficial tool and an artful listening experience for other fans of the genre.
