As summer hits full swing, it makes perfect sense for the accomplished AVOTRE label to offer up some sizzling Ibiza anthems. As such, label boss Santé teams up with musical sparring partner Sidney to present From the Terrace to the Warehouse: Ibiza Heat, a compilation that pulls together seven new tracks of sun kissed dynamite that will soundtrack your every move this summer.
Both Santé & Sidney feature with a brace of killer cuts of their own. Sidney comes correct with ‘Basement Tales’, a tough, jacking track that is physical and irresistibly groovy. Meanwhile, Santé offers ‘Acid Rain’, which is another pure house bomb with rubbery kicks and lots of great synth work as well as that classic squelchy sound we all love.
The rest of the compilation pulls together a clutch of new producer talents that haven’t released on the label before, but each one fits in perfectly with the no nonsense MO of the label to date.
Along the way, the likes of classic house producer Montel offers ‘Body Music,’ which is a physical house cut with thudding kicks and groove laden percussion. Mennie keeps it deep and old school flavoured with the slow jack of ‘Organica’ and Locklead offers up a whacked out, sketchy and playful track that is all lo fi and grainy, bumpy and raw.
Kuo Climax’s ‘Breakdown’ is a high pressure, high impact track with alien synths, sic fi sounds and massive, barreling drums that thud with a real sense of presence. Last but not least Ale Castro’s ‘Schubkraft’ keeps things decidedly deep and retro with hubby basslines, airy hi hats and big splashes of cymbal all riding next to a wub-wub bassline that will sends hands in the air.
This is a brilliantly varied compilation of cuts that both DJs and dancers are sure to love this summer. As ever, AVOTRE has pulled together the finest talents of the day and got the very best out of them.

Ahead of the release of his second artist album, Current II, Avotre label boss Santé is teasing us with a fantastic first EP from it. 

The new album is a real artistic development that shows off plenty of new musical maturity, and these tracks hint at that. It comes after nine years of turning out real club dynamite on his own label Avotre as well as many other labels such as Rekids, Souvenir, Desolat and Cocoon.

Up first is Emotional Closer, a hard hitting and driving house track with pounding drums. It is co-produced with Joaquin DeKoen, a new young talent from Argentina, and has spoken word vocals that get you in a trance as the balmy pads bring real soul and colour. 

Sunset Boulevard is a Detroit style house jam with raw Roland drums and manic synth lines filled with texture and energy. 

It is a futuristic track that takes you on a real trip through the cosmos, and finally Twisted Love offers excellent broken drum patterns and a musical bassline that goes deep and will sweep up the shadiest of crowds. 

This is a brilliant taster of the much anticipated full length to come.

Avotre offers a home for everything that represents the different tempers of the contributing producers… and the latest release comes from Berlins Sidney Charles, who is giving us a lesson in house music, with his House Lesson EP.
 
Sidney Charles is not a musician, nor a percussionist. He is a collector. A collector of culture and experiences... The energy and feeling around the track is what makes the difference and Sidney’s House Lesson EP is a straight up house number that is reminiscent of the US house sound – full of groove, drum rolls, hi-hats, snares and a vocal that offers a lesson of how to create that perfect house track.
 
Chris Carrier’s B-side remix picks up the pace, adds a signature percussion sound and strips back the vocals to create a more techier focused version of the track.
