To the curious listener,

I began writing this song in fall of 2018 while studying abroad in Berlin. My experience in Germany felt like a moment of stillness before being moved into a season of more intensity at home in NYC. I was never sure what this song would come to or when it would see the light of day, but then the world stopped with COVID-19 and releasing it felt suddenly meaningful. Today, 3/21/2020, we're in another moment of stillness, a global shift that's forced us all into a mandatory state of rest and recovery. To me, it feels like "the calm before the change," although we don't know what that change will be yet... Despite all of our current worries and concerns, I really do believe that it's gonna be okaaayyy, it's okaayyy yeah, it's alright. And I hope that when you're listening to this song it brings you as much joy as it's brought me the past two years...
