The story behind the name "Ziploc Launcher" is this - At sporting events during halftime, tshirts and other memorabilia are commonly launched into the crowd. The thing is, people don't usually wear the tshirts unless to bed. However, if they shot things people actually needed, say toilet paper, bars of soap, or boxes of Ziploc bags, the crowd might actually get really stoked about it.

The story behind the name "Tough Lettuce" is this - I was listening to the radio one day while searching for samples (that you can hear in the song). In a radio interview, a guy said "Uhh, it's called the real world, tough lettuce".

Birthed in the shadows of Vancouver and raised on the LA Beat Scene, THE DEATHLY ILLS have been honing their skills quietly as musicians and sound artists. Upon recently moving to Montreal, they met avroARROW in a local cafe and have been working as a team ever since. This ever mysterious five person ensemble have put together a nice set of tracks that combine all of their different styles into one cohesive EP. "Friendly Phantom, Hungry Ghost" will be the first official release on the Bondar Digital Imprint.

The story behind the name "Thesaurus Watch" is this - I have always loved looking up synonyms of words in the thesaurus to find a more suited word for what I am describing. One day I was looking at my calculator watch and was thinking, I don't have any use for a calculator on my watch, but how cool would it be to have a thesaurus watch.

The letter G looks like the number 6, and also looks like an arrow telling you to rewind. It also is used as a term of endearment in the hiphop community.

In celebration of avroARROW getting his music-machine fixed and not losing a single piece of data, THE DEATHLY ILLS are releasing the title track from their upcoming album GORE-TEX. 
Deeply rooted in ambient, sci-fi, sound manipulation, noise, hip-hop and fashion, GORE-TEX will be hitting the internet when the weather requires it.

The latest offering from THE DEATHLY ILLS comes in the form of "EKO KUANGO". The name "EKO KUANGO" doesn't actually mean or refer to anything... until now(?). 

The track was made at a time when the ensemble's members were wrestling with the idea that the conscious thought of the human race is actually what is destroying the planet, and the human need to create, express, and entertain in order to avoid boredom is a purely selfish act. It may seem odd that they decided to create a song to express a view against the human need to create, but earth hasn't stopped spinning since doing so, sooooooooooooooo enjoy!
