Birthed in the shadows of Vancouver and raised on the LA Beat Scene, THE DEATHLY ILLS have been honing their skills quietly as musicians and sound artists. Upon recently moving to Montreal, they met avroARROW in a local cafe and have been working as a team ever since. This ever mysterious five person ensemble have put together a nice set of tracks that combine all of their different styles into one cohesive EP. "Friendly Phantom, Hungry Ghost" will be the first official release on the Bondar Digital Imprint.

The latest offering from THE DEATHLY ILLS comes in the form of "EKO KUANGO". The name "EKO KUANGO" doesn't actually mean or refer to anything... until now(?). 

The track was made at a time when the ensemble's members were wrestling with the idea that the conscious thought of the human race is actually what is destroying the planet, and the human need to create, express, and entertain in order to avoid boredom is a purely selfish act. It may seem odd that they decided to create a song to express a view against the human need to create, but earth hasn't stopped spinning since doing so, sooooooooooooooo enjoy!
