Deniro – a producer pur sang. Synthesizers are his way to communicate with the world. Growing up in The Hague he was only interested in making music on his vintage gear. His unique style can be described as timeless soul Detroit inspired techno sounds with yet an emotional touch.

VOLTAGE Podcast is a bi-weekly podcast series, broadcasting both upcoming and well-established artists within the techno scene. Every episode features a lengthy set surrounded by a spoken in- & outro. Few are the artists who can claim to have as much influence in the international techno scene as Setaoc Mass. Producer, DJ, and label-owner, Sam Coates has been pushing forward club music with his work since his debut release in 2011.

Originally from the UK and now based in Germany, Setaoc Mass partially started out with an interest in IDM and electronica out of a small village outside Manchester he called home before ever stepping into techno. With a consistently strong stream of releases since the beginning, it was in 2015 he began his journey with SK-11 which initially was meant exclusively for self-releases. That was the case until Yant sent him demos, for which Coates created the SK-X sublabel, which became the center of attention in the scene since this first release.

Following this was a steady flow of releases that made their way in the world’s top selectors record bags, featuring new-comers like New York’s Holden Federico, or affirming strong careers like Holland’s TWR-72. With a relationship to techno tracks like tools for mixing tunneling and hypnotic sets for an attentive crowd, Setaoc Mass has brought his sets all over the world, often with tracks he either produced or pressed with the SK logo. Always in search of the next effect, the next artist, or the next track, Setaoc Mass’s ear has crafted him a career that has only been on the rise since it started.

Pär Grindvik joins for DifferentSound Podcast #126.

Pär Grindvik has been a central figure in the Swedish electronic scene since the 90s as record store owner, label manager and producer. In his artistic career Pär has released music across a plethora of acclaimed electronic labels, including a string of hits on his own Stockholm LTD imprint as well as Drumcode, with frequent collaborator Hardcell. Pär’s recent output has seen him contribute music to labels such as Semantica, Marbacka, Sinister and Dystopian. Founded in 2002, Stockholm LTD began as an outlet for singles and EPs from Swedish artists with a focus on releasing timeless electronic music. It has since developed into a hallmark for finely crafted electronic music from a range of international artists. Pär continues to serve as one of the most exciting and hardworking contributors to the scene. Every inch of Pär’s work, including labels, artwork, release info and music, is wrapped with heart and emotion, a quality which keeps the sparkle and curiosity alive within the ever changing adaptations of the artistic world.
