From an early age on, Kamafaka took a liking to the dark side of techno. The Hungarian DJ combines noisy industrial sounds with a fast, rave-oriented style that makes heads melt on the dancefloor. In her hometown of Budapest, she organized parties with the NoFear Unity collective, known for supplying local ravers with quality highspeed techno. After establishing herself in Hungary, Kamafaka has set her sights on bringing her raw energy to warehouses and bunkers beyond her native borders. With recent successful gigs in Berlin, Kamafaka has proven that her infectious sound will make ravers anywhere dance all night long.

SPND20 Mixtape by Planetary Assault Systems

For this next number comes Amsterdam-based DJ/Producer Grace Dahl, a top-notch talent with a techno heritage. Some of her early years were spent listening to her dad spin records in Spain (the place her rave-loving Hungarian father and Finnish mother then called home), a teasing precursor to subsequent chapters in her tale. A later date saw her move to the Dutch capital: here at 18, she started playing local venues, refining her method and catching the eye of stalwart party series Vault Sessions, where she took up a high-octane residency. In the decade since the pieces have really fallen into place: she’s played Berghain, Awakenings, Boiler Room and a notorious b2b set with her dad at Amsterdam’s Basis. She’s also released her debut EP Dark Side of Desire and a number of follow ups on labels like Amelie Lens’ EXHALE and Frenzy Recordings. Moving forward to the speed of her productions, her very own imprint SDT (Serial Disc Touchers) saw daylight in 2024, a channel for her unfolding prophecy, featuring familiar names like François X and Julian Müller. And it’s a good one. Her sound skims across hard groove and traditional techno, rolling bouts of rhythm and sound that offer a palette you have to feel in the gut. It’s hypnotic, powerful, frenzied stuff, a cavalcade of masterful beats that won’t slow down for a soul. For Bassiani Podcast 256, Dahl brings every one of her razor sharp wits to the table and delivers an hour long blend of staggering scale, pure-blood techno made to measure from her studio base.

@fadimohem is right at the heart of contemporary techno. He brings his own twist on the classic sound - deep, rhythmic and atmospheric. He's a Berghain resident whose first contact with the genre came at the hallowed club, and since then, he has blazed his own trail on the most influential labels in the scene, including his own Mohem imprint. This year, he plays twice at Dekmantel Festival, once as part of WSNWG Live and once on the Radar stage.

Ahead of that, he has put together an exclusive one-hour live set comprised only of unreleased music. It's a masterclass in control that embodies just what you get from Fadi in the club: deep techno planted firmly on the floor but always going somewhere. As dubbed out low ends, glitchy textures and more tripped out melodies come and go, the tension ramps up while both body and mind stay locked.
