“Blond”, the third full-length effort by Jaythedøn is an attempt at solidifying the no-autotune, original sound that he originally entered the music scene with. The album “Blond” is a dedication to rebirth and other forms of reset. Blonde hair has been associated with youth, vitality, and purity. In many cultures, blonde hair is viewed as a symbol of beauty and desirability. The album itself is an autobiography that reflects (Jaythedøn’s) struggles and experiences in life, while also taking inspiration from instrumentals used by Frank Ocean’s album of the same name. The release is a powerful way of sharing his story with others. By putting experiences into words and music, you can create something that is deeply personal and meaningful. You can also create something that others can relate to and find comfort in, knowing that they’re not alone in their struggles. The purpose of “Blond” is to be honest and authentic. This means being open and vulnerable about your experiences, even if they are difficult or painful to talk about, in which the artist does in extreme detail. It also means being true to your own voice and style, rather than trying to conform to others expectations. The goal of “Blond” is to gain a sense of closure and healing, and by putting personal topics into an album, it can be therapeutic and empowering.
