Monte Carlo - Reves Dorés

Monte-Carlo is a municipality in the Principality of Monaco and, with an area of ​​43.68 hectares (0.44 square kilometers), the largest of the microstate's nine administrative districts. It is known for its casino of the same name and the annual Monte Carlo Rally. The Circuit de Monaco, where the Monaco Grand Prix is ​​held, also runs partially through Monte-Carlo.

Near the casino are several green spaces, such as the Jardins de la Petite Afrique ("Gardens of Little Africa"), where the botanist and garden designer Édouard François André had subtropical vegetation planted in 1881.

Monte-Carlo is often mistakenly referred to as the capital of the city-state. However, the city-state does not have a separate capital – rather, the Monegasque administrative center is located in the southern district of Monaco-Ville, where numerous government offices, the Prince's Palace, and the Cathedral of Notre-Dame-Immaculée are located. Monte-Carlo borders the districts of La Rousse, Larvotto, La Condamine and Ravin de Sainte-Dévote as well as the French commune of Beausoleil.

Monte Carlo owes its name to Prince Charles III (Italian: Carlo III), who established a casino in the 1860s in what was then an undeveloped area on a rocky outcrop (Italian: monte = mountain). The area surrounding the casino was given the name Quartier de Monte Carlo on July 1, 1866 (for further details on its history, see Monte Carlo Casino).

Forgot How To Dream ft. K.Flay

After touring Australia this year with @enschwayofficial & @daktylmusic I decided to buy a guitar and try to teach myself how to play. I’ve always been fascinated by the sound and I felt it would add a new element to how I create.

This song was the second time I tried to record something with the guitar and as I kept working, the song felt like an extension of Breathe. Something playful with a more mature sound that has similar emotion of the original.

I grew a lot this year being thrown into situations I didn’t expect and a lot of life events that you can never predict or prepare for. I spent the last half of the year throwing myself into anything that felt outside of my comfort zone - to grow not only as a musician but as an individual.

This is one of the last releases of the year but the first to show how that feeling has shaped the music I’m creating and who I’m becoming.

Breathe 2.0

Surprisingly enough, Alexa was the first person I had a session with for this EP, and this was the last song finished. We got to know each other fairly well and started writing the basic idea of the song up until the drop and then called the session.

Before going to bed that night I wrote a note with an idea of what I was hearing in my head. Within a couple of minutes the next morning, the first try at the idea worked perfectly and fit the song (which never really happens). I fleshed out the rest of the production the rest of the day and sent back.

We set up a session right before the EP was done to flesh out the second verse and Alexa changed the chorus melody which gave the song so much life and energy. A lot of tailoring the song to fit, replacing chops and constantly bouncing different ideas around - we finished and the song sounded complete.

Love, Alexa is one of the most interesting people I've had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know - her background and sound are one of one and come full circle with the way she writes and sings. There were moments while recording where I laid down with my eyes closed and just listened to her voice. Thank you for helping create this song and for being a part of the EP.
