I wasn't totally happy with my earlier version of this song so I just did it again. I added a couple of lead breaks, a violin to underpin the song and a second rhythm uke. I also cranked up the speed by 5bpm and added different harmonies and vocals. This feels better to me. Thanks

Rather than follow the traditional path for this classic Christmas song we decided to change the words just a bit so the story is quicker paced than usual and told in the present tense. The message is eternal and unchanging and we hope our acoustic folk version will express it as well as any other version has for generations. Wishing everyone a very joyful Christmas 2022!

There's a last time for everything and it is possible to be sentimental over an old trusted machine. I must make one last journey in the old ship before the technology revolution makes it uneconomic or, worse,  socially unacceptable.

One Last Trip In The Old Ship

Well, my good friend Paco dropped me a note to say he had a piece of music to which I might like to try and add something, were I so inclined.  Always a good day when that happens.

Now, I can't honestly recall the precise sequence in which the neurons fired inside my skull to yield the result we have here, but we are where we are as they say.

Don't go looking at me for rationale.

Thank you, Paco, as always my friend, for inviting me to come out to play, and for mastering the end result in the midst of untold techno-horror grief.  I hope your DAW world resolves itself very soon.

I lie bewildered, here, in my sphere of cubes,
