ANTIDOTE Premiere: Hioll - Planetario [BST025]

Backspin's fifth release comes from Obscure Shape, delivering a deep and versatile techno EP that lives up to its title: 'Zwei Gesichter' (German for 'Two Faces'). Across five tracks, the EP explores the tension between raw force and emotional depth, marrying the label's Hardgroove roots with a more introspective edge.
The A-side presents Obscure Shape's first face: It opens with 'Zwei Seiten', a no-frills banger that hits with immediacy and drive. 'Im Angesicht Der Zeit', the single, leans into groove and movement, offering a more fluid, time-aware flow. 'Die Haut In Der Ich Wohne' pares things back into a minimalistic, looping hypnosis, evoking the idea of inhabiting one's own skin. On the B-side, presenting the producer's second face, 'Spuren Des Werdens' features producer AMIYE and introduces more melody and saw synths, a reflection on growth and transformation. The closer, 'Von Hoffnung Getragen' – also a collaboration with AMIYE – lifts off with ethereal vocals and a bouncing rhythm, embodying the hope that carries us forward.
With the 'Zwei Gesichter' EP, Obscure Shape crafts a powerful narrative through groove, form and feeling perfectly aligned with Backspin's evolving reinterpretation of early 2000s techno.

Axel Karakasis - Troubled (Original Mix) [Devotion Records]

This time is Ricardo Rodrigues AKA Industrialyzer who lands on the court of Damon Wild with three tracks perfectly aliened with the label's philosophy, Synewave has been at the service of real techno for over 20 years. 

It all begins with "Analogue Planet" a 130 bpm journey which rouses the dance floor whilst stimulating the mind, giving both of them no mercy. 

The second track, "Multiple Walls", carries the flavour of an Old School small march with a hammondesque synth which revolves around the groove from beginning to end. 

The atmosphere becomes dark and acid in the third and final track on this release. "Orbit X" is an emotional roller coaster which develops in different phases, everyone of which takes the listener by surprise. 

With this release Industrialyzer reminds us that, after all, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, Amsterdam or Lisbon don't really matter, quality techno is a global affair and Synewave consistently confirms this with releases above all schemes, movements and trends. Monumental.

RemainLtd 103 and Axel Karakasis welcome 2018 in absolute techno style with Remote Control. An amazing two-track release to infatuate club goers and inspire DJs for some wild adventures on the dancefloors.

Monochrome is a bass-heavy, rhythm-rolling and beautifully layered samples composition that is both exciting and addictive. Groove in all its glory and a maximum dose of energy!

The title track is a real gem that stands out! Thumping beats, a haunting bassline mixed with carefully selected synth samples and the result is simply…mesmerizing!
