Here’s the last >club focused< 12” that we’ll announce before summer: welcome back Robert Dietz! After last year's RIP To My Idea Of You, he’s back with a complete solo EP: 3 MIRRORS. Four high energy cuts rounded out by the aptly named Sudden Peace. And with flying colours. Highlight track Farbpaletten is as propulsive as it is large, a typical Dietz track that touches on trance, but not in the way you would expect. These are tracks to draw out to sun and fill up any floor. 3 Mirrors is Robert Dietz's most explosive outing yet.

Renowned for his intricate productions techniques and fervent dedication to all things deep, Maltese producer Melchior Sultana is an artist in the truest sense of the word. A multifaceted producer and live act, Sultana has repped some of the scene’s most renowned names in his time, with the likes of Jus Ed’s Underground Quality and Mike Grant’s Moods & Grooves among those who’ve hosted his sultry jams. The producer’s latest endeavour sees him kick off his own label, Profound Sound. A vehicle for Sultana’s own productions, the imprint’s inaugural release is ‘Love for the Art’, a four track EP that’s bristling with warm analogue goodness throughout. 
Getting us underway is the sounds of ‘Feel This’. A hazy introduction to proceedings, its packed with beguiling melodies and atmospheric vibes throughout, and though its roots lie closer to Detroit than Malta, it’s exactly the sort of gem that’d sound perfect when toasting a sunset on the Maltese coast. The A side is completed soon after with a live edit of ‘Give it to the Moon’. Another stunning track, this one comes complete with a gorgeous female vocal, and pairs Balearic tendencies with deep house characteristics. The end result being a track that’s sure to take the breath away. Stirring and emotive, it’s a fitting track with which to culminate any set. 
The B side gets underway courtesy of ‘Treasures’. Again, Sultana’s penchant for beautiful melodies is again apparent, with this one maintaining a relatively relaxed ethos that’s subtle but also stunning. Seeing us out the door is the original edit of ‘Give it to the Moon’. A handy alternative to what’s come before, it’s this version that’s sure to leave discerning tastemakers in a spin. An EP of wonderful sound and scope, Profound Sounds’s opening salvo is every bit as profound - and indeed, excellent - as the label’s title suggests.

Red Axes are very excited to present the first part of their new project called: "Trips", a multi media venture combining music, film and travelling across the globe in pursuit of extra ordinary collaborations. 

Niv Arzi and Dori Sadovnik are seeking to discover new grounds and sounds, and to record local musicians, indigenous instruments and present workshops for youth music schools.

In March of 2017, the Israeli duo touched down in Africa for the first time, and set up camp in both Ethiopia and Ivory Coast, yielding In Africa, a triple header EP which features three slices of contemporary body music, with both East and West African musical motifs. 

The project will always present a musical release, on vinyl and digital, that was created on the trip, accompanied with a documentary, showing the whole journey.

The Music;
A1 sees Red Axes and seven-piece Ivorian band, Yakomin, intertwine mechanical drum-machine passages with breathing, live percussion and recordings of instruments indigenous to the West African costal region. Amuse’s dusty, afrofunk-leaning synths pair excellently with the celebratory singing and rhythms by students from Abidjan’s Insaac Music School. Addis Sababa’s overdriven, analog electronics escort lesser-known wind and plucked instruments to the sunny finish line. in trademark Red Axes style.

The Film;
An accompanying documentary by Nimrod Von Keren, entitled TRIPS #1 - Africa, is soon to be unveiled, which showcases the magic moments behind this first-of-many, transcontinental, nonstandard collaborative experiences. 

The Show;
On August 23rd, we will present a one of a kind performance with 3 of the amazing musicians we worked with in Ivory Coast, from the band Yakomin. The show will happen at "Sacred Music Festival" in Jerusalem, and this is the most amazing closure, the band and Red Axes could have dreamed of. The artists will prepare a special set up of tracks recorded together, and new organic interpretations for their biggest tracks.

Space Dimension Controller - Alone In An Unknown Sector

For many years now Beats in Space has been one of the most definitive radio shows in leftfield dance and electronic music, it has acted as an outlet for an endless array of producers and dj's to showcase their talent behind the decks and has helped spread their reach internationally. It has of course been pioneered by host Tim Sweeney via WNYU and remains one of the most crucial platforms within the circle. 

Beats In Space has since been transformed into a prominent record label which has been responsible for the release of a large catalogue of material including features from Andras, Gonno, Tornado Wallace, Mount Liberation Unlimited, Powder and many, many more. The radio show has since evolved into a full bodied musical venture of which Tim should be most proud. It's no small feat. 

We got chatting to Tim a little while back who offered to record us a mix of label focussed material. Some upcoming, some new, some old It's all in there, as raw and exciting as ever. 

We are delighted to be able to showcase Beats In Space in such a capacity.
