We present the third compilation of ambient and experimental music, for this delivery we unite different styles of producers from Colombia, Argentina, France, the United States and Mexico.

We will gradually listen to a sound tour resulting in a diverse palette of colors, mostly deep and of sounds dedicated to the contemplation of space and the passing of time and created from its origin with various compositional techniques.

Golden - La Templanza

Torn and tarnished, dj meddle makes their debut on TT with their record ‘jeu du stop’, providing us with seven unadorned tracks that dive into their core sonic fibre.

On tracks such as ‘skin’ and ‘fever’ dj meddle and his collaborators strip back and obscure references to pop, kuduro and dancehall. Contorting the voice into new forms that work equally as p[ercussive elements and earworms that leave the listener wanting more.

Concurrently in moments on ‘rosa imunda’ and ‘speed is life, speed is death’ meddle takes a confrontational approach. Creating blistering club excursions that spare no time in getting to the heart of the matter (beefy drum workouts) and guaranteeing dancefloor euphoria in the months and years to come.

The final track ‘drafts’ is the score to an abstract comic created by artist Miranda Smart. To mark the release of ‘le jeu du stop’ the comic will be available to purchase via the TT Bandcamp or through Miranda directly

Artistic collaborations don't have to be exhaustive, competitive or combative. And for Berlin-based producers James Ginzburg and Ziúr, their work together as myxomy has been almost effortless. Both artists bring with them a deep history of recording in vastly different circumstances: Ginzburg has worked on bass music, folk, experimental techno (as half of Emptyset) and experimental drone, while Ziúr played in a number of bands before settling into her current explorative electronic mode. So when they started working together in 2020, it was their respective backgrounds that provided the touch-paper for an explosive artistic head-to-head.

Ginzburg instigated the process by sending Ziúr beats he'd made in Bristol in a former life, and Ziúr, fresh from finishing her PAN-released third solo album "Antifate", set about sculpting them into completely new forms. In response, Ziúr dispatched vignettes to Ginzburg and he did the same. As they exchanged ideas back and forth and lapsed into absurdity, the songs followed suit, evolving from raw concepts and loops into proper songs as both Ziúr and Ginzburg traded melodies, lyrics and production tricks. The duo's fragmented sketches and scribbles took on new life, channeled, refined and re-invigorated as they developed into anxious, hybridized pop jewels.

Their surprising stylistic choice is revealed immediately on opening track 'Sloppy Attempt', a fractured mood stabilizer that dissociates from Bristolian trip-hop into glossy android pop. Ziúr's singing voice carries the track into a sonic black hole, mutated into an alien gurgle as she gently coos the prophetic words, "a sloppy attempt won't cut it, no no." And as Ginzburg takes the reins on 'A little opaque', singing over Ziúr's twisted neon electronics, it's clear that both artists have pushed each other outside of their comfort zones, providing the reassurance and comfort necessary to evolve.

On 'In and Until', they find an exact median between their two most recent albums. Twanging hurdy-gurdy sounds remind of Ginzburg's 'crystallise, a frozen eye', compelled forward by brittle foley percussion we last heard on "Antifate". A scalding industrial boil of deranged synthesizer squeals and rolling drums parts like the Red Sea on 'Toxin Out', cooling to a crust for Ziúr's half-sung words to echo overhead. "Burn the bridges it's a choice, eat the rich, and throw up on the fuckbois."

"Myxomy" isn't an overtly political album, but driven by a desire to create and a shared philosophical space, Ziúr and Ginzburg are naturally outspoken. Their vision of pop is twisted through history and floated on frustration, growth and constant reinvention. It's a unique mix of polar elements - light and dark, noise and silence, joy and melancholy - that centers itself on one important theme: together, we're far more powerful than we ever could be alone.

HYPNAGOGIC SURGE (GEN043) by AMSELYSEN is a dense setup of signal interferences, of jacked up, spliced, reconstructed digital snippets, of outbursts whose amplitude overcooks the microphone's defenseless circuitry. Anxious with unreleased energy build-ups, the music is always pregnant with a double quality, something like a dagger made from ice, the possibility to shatter or crumble into a thousand shards combined with the looming threat of clean rupture posed by the blade's edge. Digital distortion is used here to unmask materials, to frontally attack them and expose their shimmering metallic face; pitch-time processing dilemmas get dodged by exploding into the high frequency gleam embedded but hidden in their algorithms. Completely removed from the "Lo-Fi" paradigm seeking warmth or nostalgia, the present degradation-reconstructions result in newly audible chirp figures, the sparkle of aliasing and the descent into the grainy territory of microscopic sound events. From a more panoramic perspective, these tracks are continually transforming contraptions, with looping frames accelerating, doubling, halting or stuttering, overloading, seemingly struggling to buffer, sometimes mixing with immiscible materials to form a glistening suspension of new sound material.

"Stemming from confusion, indignation, and feeling disoriented, Hypnagogic Surge appeals to dream-like lenses that reinterpret the everyday world; words lose clarity and are reduced to phonemes and their perceived energy, well-known advert jingles and hit songs are obfuscated and develop into undecipherable melodies, feelings ranging from relief to aggression flash quickly into succession without rhyme or reason. In the awareness gaps of the dream state, information is made up and averaged into confusing erroneous approximations — here translated in the poised presence of aural artifacts such as bad mp3 bit rate shimmer, 1/8in inlet pops, bad aliasing and interpolation, unshielded cable radio interference, fake stereo, inverted polarizing, etc
Amselysen’s nightmarish interpretation of the hypnagogic state is heavily informed by tropes surrounding hardcore music, only this time the tropes are removed from their context and reimagined before reappearing into the album, thus resulting in a hyperreality; a simulacra of hardcore, intensity and dynamism. Remediating genres like punk, techno, metal, rap and noise through distant mimicry and radical sampling, Hypnagogic Surge approaches liminal reverie with a garish maximalist attitude."

Amselysen is Montreal-based intermedia artist Hakeem Lapointe’s latest musical project. It focuses on approaching experimental electronics with a critical lens, bridging the gap between conceptual spaces typically reserved to institutional practices and accessible aural aesthetics. Usually described as an outsider artist, never privy to the music academia and alien to most of the underground scene, Lapointe sheds all concerns for musical conventions and pursues their own sonic obsessions, which commonly sit in the leftfield genre. Their current work process ponders on indeterminacy, plunderphonics, hyperrealities, cultural foraging, and hypnagogia.
Works, outside of their own visual practice, include scores and sound design for short films, performances and installations in various exhibitions, including the After Hours at the McCord presented under Kent Monkman - Shame and Prejudice: A Story of Resilience.
