This song was written as a protest against the rising population of the illegal immigrants of Bangladesh in Assam, which has always been a cause of trouble for the state. The 2012 Assam Riots are a major event in the history of Assam for which these Bangladeshi illegal immigrants have been blamed.

The 2008 Assam bombings occurred on 30 October 2008 in the markets of Guwahati city and surrounding areas of western Assam. Reports indicated explosions of as many as eighteen bombs, causing at least 77 deaths and 470 injuries.
