Widely regarded as pioneers of PC Music, Blacknecks are proud to unveil their final and most shambolically cobbled-together record to date. After 6 half-arsed releases, a couple of half-arsed gigs and a brutally honest interview in a popular far-right culture pamph, all while managing to maintain their stellar UK garage careers, Blacknecks are now dead. 

This final release contains seven new tracks, plus one which wasn't quite good enough to go on any of the first five EPs. It features toe tapping minimalism, knee jerking industrial, tear inducing melodies, fist clenching hoovers, a novelty track that really shouldn’t have made it onto the record and a whole mess of shite that they would be ashamed to release under their own names. Packed with obscure literary references from one of those books that they saw for sale somewhere, Blacknecks tread the delicate line between the Apollonian and Dionysian, by throwing any old bollocks together and sucking up the acclaim. It is, to put it simply, the single most important record of the 21st century. If you disagree, you are wrong.

Harvard Bass – Relocation EP

Next up on Saved, rising star Harvard Bass drops two bass-driven cuts on his “Relocation EP.” Channeling both the charismatic flavor of his home country’s underground electronic scene with the traditions of US house, the San Diego based producer charts an amalgamation of both cultures over two upfront tracks.

The funky, tribal-like drums that ignite “That’s Me” set the rhythmical structures that underpin the track into motion straight away. Before long, a deep, tumbling bassline joins the fun, injecting an intoxicating groove that rides out for the duration. The way the percussion rebounds off the groove creates an infectious swing, which oscillates beneath the FX-strewn vocals, repeating with mechanical stamina.

“Get Got!” is less intense, settling into a slower, more laidback groove courtesy of a simple but addictive bassline. Chopped up, metallic sounding percussion adds an unusual and distinctive sense of rhythm that continues to build throughout, pulling you ever closer into the grips of the percolating, fluid bottom end.

Beth Lydi is the newest addition to the Voltage Musique family. Deep and bassy, you find her sound somewhere between techno and tech-house, though fresh, vivid and happy. „Ego Trip“ provides a powerful tool for the dance floor, with a really dynamic and drifty groove. For this song she brought the very talented Denver-based DJ and producer Jaceo on board. His remix is in true Jaceo style a bouncing and energetic track that makes standing still impossible. „Supersize“ continues this feeling with a really positive vibe and playful elements designed for peak time goose bump moments.

The Junkies touch down with the very House-y Just Cant Try, and the rocksteady rhythm section ensures maximum momentum as a rubber-band bassline provides the backdrop for classic chord stabs and persistent hi hats. Jaceos version goes for a more cavernous approach with snare edits piercing the thick air and streamlined synths adding extra class to the dubbed-out atmosphere.

Italian duo Alex Neri (@alexneridj) & Federico Grazzini (@federico-grazzini) are next up on VIVa MUSiC, delivering three versions of ‘Desert Rose’, complemented with a deeper ‘NYC Mix’ from UK northern talent Burnski (@burnskipower) who brings his signature groove to the release.

“Desert Rose was created by Alex Neri and myself Federico Grazzini during a long jam session in the studio playing with vintage analog machines (Roland TR909, Jupiter 8 and Moog Voyager), messing around the main melancholic melody, trying different drum lines and experimenting. We recorded so much material that we decided to give more than one interpretation of the track. Moving in between house and techno, maintaining a strong old school attitude, each version shows a different point of view without missing the soul of the track.” - Federico Grazzini

o+ Alex Neri was part of the globally successful band Planet Funk and is also one of the founders of Tenax Records. Djing from a very young age he can now be seen playing hotspots all over the world. From working in radio to becoming one of Italy’s most prolific producers, Federico Grazzini spends his time between Italy and Ibiza. He also holds residencies at Cocoricò (Riccione) and The Zoo Project (Ibiza) alongside playing his other worldwide gigs. Their releases as a duo can also be found on the likes on Tenax Rec, Sci+tec and Suara.

Signed to KMS Records - the brainchild of Detroit luminary, Kevin Saunderson - the Pressure EP offers 3 tracks of stone cold techno, from the pulsating nightmare of the title-track, to the robotic funk of 'Goldfinger' and the driven 'Program Error'.

The Greek-born, Krakow-based producer has been turning a lot of heads over the past few years, with his own Secret Room Records, and work for Bush, Proton and Monique Musique (the latter of which we premiered here). Through his KMS debut, Deas solidifies his rightful place amongst the contemporary techno elite, and we have a feeling this is still only the beginning.
