Nero's Fiddle

This was a really special mix for me. I made it in a year when I was really depressed and worried about where my life was going. This mix captures that emotion of battling my own self destructive nature and shows the chaos that was going on in my head at the time.

Zenyx is a symbolic character that represents the impulses I struggle with due to my ADHD. Before this point it felt like my self and my brain were fighting each other constantly. When I made this mix I was starting to realise that the only way forward was to learn how my brain operates and work with it rather than trying to force it to change. Musically, this gets represented in the mix by noisy, experimental & aggressive elements contrasting with melodic, vocal & dancable elements, often in the same song. If this was an actual back-to-back type set it wouldn't work, by blending each style together the end result is more hamonious and flowing.

This mix changed my music quite a lot, I hope you find it inspiring too ^^
