Coast 2 Coast with Community Function @ The Lot Radio 10-17-2024

For this months edition of 'Good Smells', I have selected a mix of Old Skool & Hardcore inspired 'Whiffy Whoppers' that get my senses tinglin'. 
I wanted to share some loveable anthems, paying homage to those who pioneered these genres in the 90's, as well as highlighting modern day producers who are keeping the early rave sound very much alive and fresh today. 

As I develop my ''sound'' as a DJ, I find the tracks I am drawn to the most, across all genres, tend be more maximalist productions with heavy vocal samples (sorry to any minimalist fans out there). I love orchestral breakdowns, driving grooves, heavy kicks, and anything that makes me feel a sense of hedonism, unity or euphoria. However... I also want to thrash about, throw a gun sign in the air and sing along a fab pop edit every now and again (only if its better than the original - adding 1 kick drum to 'Milkshake - Kelis' , and making it 150bpm techno doesn't count gurls soz)
Over the past couple of years I have found myself diving deeper into the various sounds of Hardcore, Old Skool, Jungle, and Drum & Bass, and have found that it definitely ticks a lot of the boxes that I like.
