Following on from his previous albums "Abandoned Factory" and "Station 21", Colombo returns with another long-player in the form of "Abandoned Factory 2”.

Colombo is about as prolific a producer as you can get, and it’s all put to great use on this new collection of 11 tracks that draw on a wealth of experience and influence from all corners of the breaks and electronic world.

Album opener “Enjoy This Trip” invites you to do just that, embark on a journey through beats and deep bass.  It’s a subtle, yet effective entrance into Colombo’s world, resonating with nuskool vibes, which are also present later on breakbeat-driven “Cuckoo” and “Homesick” with it’s skippier beats but just as heavy bass.  These tracks marry light and dark together is a really clever way, with some nice ear candy moments too for those listening at home.

“Hesitation” is a slightly lower tempo, deeper tune but is driven along by a throbbing bassline, and synths that sound vaguely Crystal Method-esque.  Penultimate track “303 Classic” also takes a lower BPM route, but as the name suggests explores the classic sound of the TB-303, with a distinctively chemical feel.

For the uplifting moments head straight for “Evoke” with it’s huge build towards a piano-laden drop, or orchestral masterpiece “Crystallized” - a real hybrid moment of beats, dirty bass and lush strings.  “As Usual” takes things more big-system, rave style with those proper hands in the air moments! 

Some of the darker moments on the album can be found in “Repeat” - a pulsing bass driven 3am tune, or the electro feel of “Let It Go”, whose beats can be best described as plump!

Calming things down to close the album is “Wet Dream Chill Out”, a laid back Sunday morning kind of tune - a “back to mine” tune, if you will.
