Middle Road EP was my first release. The Song 'Middle Road' featuring Paul Weller on backing vocals and electric guitar, Steve White (Paul Weller #stylecouncil #players) on drums, Gary #mani Moundfield (#thestoneroses #primalscream)on bass, Inder Goldfinger (#fundamental #ianbrown) on #tabla and indian vocal paranth and yours truly on Lead vocals and electric #sitar. Written, produced and arranged by Aziz Ibrahim.
This original recording is the same mix as on the debut Aziz album 'Lahore to Longsight'.
It was initially recorded at Jacobs Studios in Farnham and then extra recording and remixed at Lundgaard Studios in Denmark. Paul Weller's engineers from Illumations were the initial crew then Dave Hyatt engineered in Denmark. Initial release was through No Label Records but then the album Lahore to Longsight was only available through mail order in limited quantities.

So there we were in Denmark in Lundgaard Studios and I'm talking to Dave Hyatt the engineer about how good Steve Whites drums are, on the 'Lahore To Longsight' album track 'Middle Road'. So I suggested we did an #azwas mix of the song to highlight his beats, to bring Paul Wellers vocals out of the song a bit more and generally mess around with it. Dave got on with prepping the drums and I started writing more parts until voila! Hope you like. Many thanks Steve White & Paul Weller.

#thekeyof3 #azizibrahim #guitar #instrumental This is the 1st in a series of new guitar instrumental singles by Manchester UK Desi GuitR guitarist Aziz Ibrahim. It was released on the 25th July 2020 and recorded at Longsight Studios, Manchester UK. Performed, mixed and produced by Aziz Ibrahim (Ex-Simply Red, The Stone Roses, Asia, Ian Brown, Steven Wilson).
 The story behind the title is that it was inspired by all the non reading writing musicians out there who can still compose sophisticated or cerebral music and only play by ear. So it may as well be the key of 3! Which is the key of E backwards. The sound has a classical feel to hint at the genre of music that people normally (but not always) relate to educated, reading musicians. Please feel free to comment.
