Globally renowned for his wealth of intricate productions and an expansive musical catalogue that strikes the perfect balance between power and grace, award-winning producer Rodriguez Jr. now announces his latest full-length studio album project, Feathers & Bones – set for worldwide release on May 26 via his newly launched imprint of the same name.

An extensive, ten-track opus that dives deep into the Frenchman’s complex sonic identity, Feathers & Bones was recorded over the course of two years, conceptualized while living in Paris and completed from his new home, Miami. Pivoting towards a new chapter in his illustrious career, the album houses a collection of new Rodriguez Jr. solo productions, two singles with Cuban-American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Liset Alea, his collaboration with multifaceted Italian artist Giorgia Angiuli, as well as an eagerly-anticipated debut collaboration with legendary English hip hop / electronica outfit, Stereo MC’s.

Following the recent release of Tuning The Moon with Giorgia Angiuli, Rodriguez Jr. reveals the next vocal single to be taken from the album. Teaming up with his wife and Nouvelle Vague collaborator, Liset Alea, Amplify emanates hedonistic grooves across its duration, combining raw bass, celestial synths and Liset’s alluring vocals. Working together in perfect harmony, this charming creation will leave a lasting impression on the listener. Joining Amplify, Rodriguez Jr. also delivers his first instrumental record in the form of Lithium. Exuding a mysterious atmosphere, the track builds gradually with flurrying synths and eerie pads, pushed along by raw, driving bass.

Speaking about Feathers & Bones, Rodriguez Jr. mentioned:

“Now more than ever, I feel the urgency to explore different formats and genres. Twenty-five years of experience in music production and thousands of shows for diverse audiences all over the world has taught me that the unpredictable is often at the core of every achievement, especially today when dance music has become so formatted. The album is a pivot towards a new chapter of my life and carries the personal alchemy that I seek in my live shows; oscillating between dreamy melodies, ethereal textures and kinetic beats.”

Giving insight into Amplify’s backstory, Liset Alea said:

“Written in lock-down Paris, a time of deep reflection and dreams of escape, I kept asking myself what takes me beyond the craziness of this world, what makes me vibrate at a higher frequency, what amplifies me? Whatever guarantees my goosebumps, it is definitely sacred and worth writing a song about.”

Rodriguez Jr. – also known as Olivier Mateu – has spent over twenty years in the industry; with his vast experience of all genres of electronic music positioning him as the visionary of melodic house and techno that he is today. Watergate welcome back two of Hamburg’s finest and most recent international exports: Adana Twins. Last seen on their latest Various Artists compilation, the duo returns with three absolutely stunning tracks of low slung, infectious cuts blurring the lines between House and Techno with an undeniable brush stroke of character the two are quickly becoming synonymous for.

‘Flower Of Cane’ kicks things off in an almost sinister fashion with massive low end bursts and a fever inducing, single note that never stops rising culminating in a climactic crescendo of dance floor euphoria while ‘Ortus’ takes a much more ‘up-beat’ approach with dreamy arpeggios and shimmering atmospherics laid over a pulsing bassline resulting in a gorgeous number ideal for a number of memorable moments.

Wrapping up the originals is the guaranteed summer anthem: 'Relentless fest. Jeppe Kjellberg’ where sultry vocals and lush aural artifacts launch sensations to uncharted new heights. Not done yet, we asked none other than the brilliant Andre Lodemann to create his revision of ‘Relentless feat. Jeep Kjellberg’ and he, as always, delivered big time. With not only one but two solid reworks of the original Lodemann’s remixes need no description other than there is a vocal and a dub version to satisfy any DJ’s sensibility. We hope you enjoy.

Norris Division, a music production and DJ duo based in Phoenix, Arizona, takes on IIO's legendary Rapture.

A classic revisited, Rapture featuring Nadi Ali has been a staple in the dance community since itʼs release in 2001. Fast forward to 2018 and her infectious vocal still resonates with people today. Wanting a deeper cut that would bring back nostalgic memories, Norris Division decided to revisit a tune that has been a favourite throughout the years.

Norris Division is the brainchild of Justin Shiba and David Epstein, who joined their collective experience and vast background to create powerful tracks, inspired by Progressive, Deep House and Melodic Techno.

Kicking things off in suitable style is long-time friend and respected producer, Timo Mass. Striking a balance between driving dance-floor and a homage to the deep roots of “Blisss”; he carves a suspense laden interpretation, teasing that already iconic bassline into a stomping frenzy of elements in crafted unison; including a resonating vocal mantra - this is a different kind of late-night Blisss...

Whilst the album showcases a blissful soundscape of sounds culminated in his career as Rodriguez Jr., it would be amiss to not pay homage to the raw spirit of the dance. Here, we are pleased to welcome Martinez Sr. to the fore, Rodriguez Jr.'s new techno alter-ego.
