"AN APPRECIATION FOR THE BASIS OF MUSIC ALLOWS FOR THE LOVE OF MANY TYPES OF MUSIC"  

I came up with the album title 'To Contemplate From a State of Hate' after doing exactly that. Living through exactly that. When I say "state," I mean it as in the state of mind and as in a place. Now I know that Iraq is not a state, but you guys catch my drift right? I hope so. Due to what we have lived and been through in Iraq, we as soldiers, have had our times in which we've had so much hate and anger raging inside of us. Like a loss of a comrade for instance; or one getting seriously injured. Then we have Iraq as in the place ("state"). Most people here really hate us Americans. As the saying goes, "Never judge a book by its cover;" we shouldn't judge every single Iraqi person by what we hear in the media. Trust me. I know first hand of how the media can manipulate or get manipulated for that matter and twist the truth around. I've had the opportunity to meet some good Iraqi people while being here and even back in the states. 

When you are listening to my album, keep in mind that I didn't work in a studio to make these tracks. I managed to do this inbetween the 560+ missions I've been in while being deployed here. Believe it or not, all I used to make this album was my laptop and a cheap $20 mic. With a lot of dedication, determination and countless-sleepless hours of hard work. I created this album in its entirety here in Iraq. In fact, I am still in Iraq as I write these facts down. I made this Album in Iraq about experiences that I had here and I am releasing this album straight from Iraq. Real music for real people. 

I created all the beats on this album. I arranged, mixed, and produced the complete album. I also wrote and performed all the unique lyrics. So in a sense, it is a soldier's journal. I basically captured what I was feeling; what I was going through and what I have seen around me while serving in Iraq. I managed to capture the way it affected not only me, but my comrades (brothers in arms, friends) as well. That is why you will see labeled next to the song tittle, the emotion I was feeling at the time and/or what I was contemplating. For example, on track # 11 which is titled 'Tripping' (REMINISCING), I was reminiscing about back in the days and being back home in San Diego.

I kept the general public in mind when I did these tracks, so they came out to where everyone can relate to it in one way or another. So these songs are not just for soldiers and the military community, they are for real people. I dedicate this album to all the soldiers in Iraq. Especially to the ones that have lost their lives paying the ultimate price to defend your freedom. To the ones that have served and survived through this hell. Last but not least, to all the innocent civilians that have lost their lives to this mayhem. I have put my heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears. I hope you dig and enjoy my music.

In loving memory of all the soldiers who are no longer with us. My condolences goes out to all their families. In remembrance of SGT Ja Chul Oh, CPL Lucas A. Frantz, SPC Raymond L. Henry, SGT Irving Hernandez Jr., & SSG Jonathan Rojas. If love alone could have saved you, you'd still be with us. You won't be forgotten.

I want to send a shout out to my brother J- Walk and my boy Wisdom of The Epidemics. To my boys P*Funk, Will, and O*Ruff of my beloved Omega Crew. To "SAGE" - the 1/17 Scout Platoon, Los Diablos from back in the days of Charlie Co., and the rest of  my boys from the 1/17 Battalion and of the 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team who served with me through OIF 3 & 4 (you know who you are.) To the Rouges of the Outlaws Platoon serving in OEF in the Horn of Africa. Stay strong Yaqui brother! I AM FROM ALL OVER; MAJESTIC ALASKA, IRONIC ORANGE COUNTY, BEAUTIFUL SUNNY SAN DIEGO AND THE SCHOOL OF LIFE. I AM A HIGH BELIEVER IN KARMA AND I CONSIDER IT MY ARMOR. NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME BUT MY OWN CONSCIOUS. THUS, MAKING ME THE ARCHITECT OF MY OWN DESTINY. I HAVE "DABBLED" AROUND WITH MY SOURCE.R.E. SINCE THE AGE OF 14. I am glad I am finally experimenting with it fully. So far, I am very happy with the outcome of this simple sketch. It took over 27 hours to come up with the script.
