Nite Flights (side-project of Azure Blue mastermind Tobias Isaksson) is interstellar disco. Built around rubbery bass and Space Mountain strobes of synthesizer noise, Nite Flights manages to be both a completely serviceable club-pop construction and an amiably free-range part of ambience.

"Traces" is the first single off Nite Flights coming album "Scandinavian Noir", his second album after the debut "Jet Lag" was released in 2016. "Scandinavian Noir" will be released late 2017.

Azure Blue - Millions of Stars
Love hurts. It’s a universal truth and has not passed unnoticed by our musical lone wanderer Azure Blue. The fresh single Millions of Stars from his upcoming ode to love: fifth album ”Images of You” takes the catharsis of the amorous dilemma of giving it all with absolutely no holding back. The single builds a firework consisting of 32 voices of custom made analog synth arpeggios and one of the biggest crescendos from the artist’s decade of productions.

Having already staked a claim in the mid-2000s as one of Sweden's most prolific and talented indie pop musicians from his time in the folk-pop group Laurel Music and fronting the happy-go-lucky collective Irene, Tobias Isaksson returned in 2011 with the solo project Azure Blue.

Combining the smooth synth pop of the '80s with the sophistication of Bryan Ferry's solo work and the lyrical eye for detail of Robert Forster and Grant McLennan (of the Go-Betweens), Azure Blue's debut album, Rule of Thirds, was released in late 2001 on the Hybris label in Sweden and Matinée in the U.S. The record caught on with reviewers and fans alike, leading to a Swedish Independent Grammy Award for Best Album. 

Azure Blue returned two years later with the even more refined Beyond the Dreams There's Infinite Doubt, with the same two labels, plus Fika in the U.K, footing the bill. The album was a critical success and was nominated for a 2013 Gaffa Award for Best Swedish Album, while Isaksson was also nominated for Best Swedish Solo Artist. His next move was to do some remixes, while also starting another project, Nite Flights. Delving into some serious space disco, he released two EPs (Nite Flights and Solar) in 2014. Late that year he opened a recording studio, formed a disco duo with Peter Bjorn and John's Peter Morén called Personal Trainers, and got back to making Azure Blue records. The first was the Every Ending Story EP, which surfaced in May of 2015, then the third Azure Blue album followed. Released by Hybris and Fika, Beneath the Hill I Smell the Sea served as the final entry in a planned trilogy and featured seven guest vocalists, including Amanda Mair, the Caesars' César Vidal, and Per Magnusson of Sportsman. Starting over again with ”Fast Falls The Eventide” an album with darker sound, more synth and electronic than before but the album is full of the timeless melodies and dreamy moods that we know as Azure Blue. 

With his coming fifth album Azure Blue returns to his most romantic roots, an ode to love, forever blue. But deeply in love.

Azure Blue is the first solo project of Tobias Isaksson. Based in Stockholm Sweden. A trilogy of dream pop albums was released from 2011 to 2015 and with a collective of musicians by his side Isaksson did extensive world tours covering most of Europe and the US East Coast. In 2013 Isaksson started a project of electronic dance music called Nite Flights which released two EPs in 2014 and the album Jet Lag in 2016 before he returned as Azure Blue with a more distinct electronic sound with 2018 album Fast Falls the Eventide. In 2019 he returned to writing heartfelt lyrics and making melodic dreamy pop with the romantic album Images of You.
