"Palmy is a little palm tree. And they're growing up, just like you! This song is about both of you growing up. Palmy wrote it after they saw you walking by them. You were on your way to Union Station. Does Palmy's song sound like a journey to Union Station to you?"

Inspired by the sidewalk landscapes of Los Angeles and the way a child might experience the natural world on a daily walk, "Palmy, the sidewalk palm tree" is a playful original soundscape written from the point-of-view of a sproutling that has rooted itself on a small patch of earth. It watches people of all ages and backgrounds on their way to places the neighborhood tree can only imagine from the sights and sounds that surround it.  

The track was created using field recorded sounds, synthesizer, three plants via PlantWave, and a dog.

The Growth Eternal (TGE) was started in 2018 as a project stemming from artist Byron Crenshaw’s direct experience and interest in bringing together disparate parts of the self. Crenshaw is a Tulsa-born, Dallas-taught, Black-living, spiritual being who currently lives in Koreatown. He started playing music professionally at 15 years old when he fell in love with jazz after hearing John Coltrane and Duke Ellington's rendition of "In a Sentimental Mood." After attending the University of North Texas and graduating in 2019 with a Jazz Bass Degree, he decided to move to California to pursue a more honest and creative path for himself in music. Eternally he grows, learning as he goes.

Raw District - I Feel No Love [Premiere]

These are dark times. The world is not at the end of history, as F. Fukuyama predicted in 1992, but has been moving beyond its end for more than two decades. Local war conflicts have penetrated European soil. Russia, like a virus, knows no borders and spreads unrestrained. Liberal democracies face unexpected challenges in countries where such a turn of events at the end of history would hardly have been anticipated. But it has happened. What better illustrates the state of the world today than the fact that since 2020, five billion people have become impoverished while the five richest individuals have doubled their fortunes? Something here does not add up…

Among the world's richest, who don't know what to do with their money, is George Soros, who enjoys an excellent reputation in Central and Eastern Europe. Among his fully independently funded projects is the music think tank "Indigo Children Paid by Soros" and his new music study of the current situation titled "DJ Nights Cuts 02."

This work consists of three chapters. In the first act, a strict and delightful punishment is meted out, not only to sinners, but also to those who can find redemption in moments of pain.

It was December fifth and the devil came. He brought with him a clear message, expressed in explicit language that not everyone may understand. (For those interested, it is possible to request a translation into any world language after subscribing on the website rotared.space.)

And what of the conclusion? A glimmer of hope? Is there still room in our souls, preoccupied with the future and the past, for it? Today's merchants of tomorrow and jugglers of the past prevent us from experiencing the present. Does tomorrow exist?

If you are interested in the universal present, 9 out of 10 Soroses would recommend listening to this EP before making any decision. Listen on the highest quality device available to you, a device capable of playing lossless files, because there have been enough losses already. And if you don't have such a device, find friends who do. The shared experience will be enriching, better than solitude on social networks.

The complete collection of remixes of Calm’s album is now presented on a special CD/digital release that, rather pleasingly, repackages the remixes in the same order as the original tracks. The likes of Mark Barrott, Yuri Shulgin, Gallo, Calm himself, Lucas Croon, Cantoma and more all feature.

First up is the Mark Barrott mix of 'Space Is My Place'. It’s an exotic feeling track with a watery current, and then comes J-Walk, who has just put out a fantastic album of leftfield downtempo on Wonderfulsound. His remix of ‘Afterglow and First Star’ has astral synths and leads that will have you gazing skyward, before Yuri Shulgin then steps up with the gorgeous ambient awakening that is his take on ‘Ending Summer Beginning Autumn.’

Label homie Gallo gets long legged on his deep-cut remix of ‘Sky Color Passing’ and after the twinkling melodies and scattered drums of My Friend Dario’s remix of ‘Shadows and Lights’ is Calm’s own acid laced interpretation of ‘Mellow Mellow Sadness'.

Alex Vincent is in reflective mood as he drowns you in lush pads and sustained chords on his remix of ’Shade of Tree’ and the always masterful Lucas Croon’s take on ‘Before Landing’ is a gentle rush of rave euphoria with its old school breakbeats and glowing pads.

Mind Fair’s remix sinks you into a slow motion house gem before balearic bossman Phil Mison becomes Cantoma for a version of ‘You Can See The Sunrise Again’ that has bright blue skies and jaunty chords making you move.

This is a varied and vital packages of remixes that not only provides plenty of heat for DJs, but also works as a fantastic standalone album.

Get Physical offer up another single from DJ T.'s forthcoming album alongside some superb remixes from Mordisco, Rey&Kjavik and Daniel Bortz.

DJ T.’s upcoming album Trans Orient Express lands in March 2020, offering a collection of forward thinking left of centre disco, house and indie dance, all infused with the global influences that are inspiring the man behind it. One of the standout moments from it is the stellar ‘Remish’.

This brilliantly colourful single is an enchanting cut with an oriental sounding lead melody that gets you under its spell throughout. Loose handclaps and bubbling, hypnotic house drums are interwoven by elastic bass and psyched-out guitar riffs to make for a most charming mood. First to
remix is Mordisco, a duo from Grenada who release their house and disco on Paper Recordings and Midnight Riot Records. Their version is a little darker, with more loose synths that spray about the mix to bring some late night party vibes to proceedings.

German artist Rey&Kjavik runs his own Rkadash, has remixed on here before and is a Mobilee associate who slows this one down into a dub disco groove that is invitingly fat and wobbly as those intoxicating leads ring out into the sky above. Suol man and slow house craftsmen Daniel Bortz flips it into something much edgier. His prickly version has lasers, twitching keys and a
pumping bassline that is more suited to sweaty dance floors.

All four tracks here offer something truly special for the dancefloor.
