I live DJed this set at a private after party during the Zoukmx festival at around 2-3am while balancing my equipment on my lap 😅 


Backstory:

Before this after-party, at that night’s official social, I felt the music was really good, but didn’t explore enough dimensions.

For example, all in all, it didn’t give enough room to come back to your connection, the ground, the ambience, or give room for you to express more dimensions within your emotions.

So when we got to the after party apartment, there was this super nice cozy rooftop were we went to use as our dance floor.

It immediately got filled with people who were ready for the music! 

One big reason that I really like private after parties (or house parties in general) is that, since the atmosphere is so informal, people feel a lot more relaxed to connect deeper and just let go. 

So this was just that kind of ripe atmosphere for a DJ to bite! 

So I did! 

I felt maybe this could be a place we can explore a little more dimensions, and let the people really relax, connect deep, and then add some spice and have fun 😈.

I pooled an arm chair and stacked my DJ equipment on my lap, and got to work. 

Generally, DJing is already kinda stressful, but the instability of the equipment on my lap, definitely added a whole other level 😅

A lot of parameters come to a DJs mind when thinking about what to play.

For example, type of music played earlier on …  people’s mood, energy, vibe, …. the atmosphere’s ambiance, coziness, setup, lighting… the number of people and level of dancing… the amount of time available to DJ … the feedback observed within each and every song ... and many others.

Hence, this is the result of those calculations within my heart ❤️  

I wish I could go a lot longer, but I had to quickly bring it to an end and deal with some personal challenges 😅.
