Late 2021, we have finalized our new live show ‘Evasion’, which we will be touring in the United States in May. Since embarking on its musical journey in 2015, Pandhora has been shaping an authentic sound signature. Inspired by shades of organic and electronic music, the duo’s productions involve progressive & psychedelic music inspirations. Strengthened by instrumental training, Pandhora has an unframed and eclectic approach to music composition.

In 2018, their first live act ‘Deep Psychedelia’ has seen daylight. Since then, they have been touring colorful grounds. From Europe to Mexico and all the way to the Middle East and India, their music travelled through inspiring venues and swaying crowds. Pandhora tell stories of intriguing soundscapes, exploring an expanding sphere of sounds. Combining vocals, driven guitar and keyboard improvisations, they aim at guiding, delicately, the audience into diverse acoustic spaces. As the story unveils, they aspire to create an ever-changing poetic tale.

In 2022, the French duo is announcing the launch of their new live show : 'Evasion'. This 'Inner quest for daydreamers' is an invite into the realm of consciousness. Exploring the topics of dreams, self-acceptance and empowerment, this new performance is suited for clubs and concert stages alike. With a bigger emphasis on instrumental improvisation, they will take listeners into a ninety minutes colorful voyage.

Pandhora [Art Vibes] - Mix #130

Berlin-based songwriter, producer, vocalist and DJ Jay Medvedeva @tothewonder369 has made her mark on influential European clubs like Fabric, Space and Pacha, toured the US, released on Decay Records in collaboration with Shaun Reeves and put out an EP on trueColors together with Doyeq, on which she also performed as a singer. Currently she is part of a classical-electronic performance at the renowned Berliner Philharmoniker, which is taking place in 2023. She is a versatile artist who shows off her subtle studio craft and unique grasp on multi-layered melody here.

Dj, Producer and Liebe*Detail key artist Matthias Meyer hails from the quiet town of Lueneberg, near Hamburg, Germany. As a young, excited music lover, the hi-tech sounds of Detroit and Chicago spoke to Matthias, and encouraged him to seek the excitement and hustle of nearby Hamburg's diverse club scene. From here he let music take control, actively promoting this newfound scene in his local towns with the Sfunkt DJ collective, organising parties that would bring the electronic message to an otherwise dance-less area.

Together with the Sfunkt crew and his close friend and future production partner Patlac, Matthias began to play bigger and better venues, to more and more acclaim. His horizons began to broaden, and his production skills sharpened, seeing the release of his debut track, 'Reichenbach', on Hamburg's much-loved Liebe*Detail label in 2006. A tough and powerful, big-room bomb, Reichenbach summed up the Meyer's broad mixture of influences, from Detroit's technical wizardry to the musicality and experimentation of Germany's fresh faced electronic movement.

'Voltage', his second release was to follow with yet more hit potential, carrying a beautiful, resonating melody across a positively uplifting techno backdrop, but it was his release in the summer of 2008, 'Tout Va Bien,' that really defined Matthias Meyer's current musical direction. A long, meandering, deeply spaced percussive journey, full of intricate detail and raw, organic textures, the track received huge support and quickly brought the young musician's name even more into the light.

As the winter months of 2008 approached, and the buzz from 'Tout Va Bien' still worked its magic, Matthias collaborated with long-time friend and producer Patlac, creating another huge club moment entitled 'Skipper'. This was released on Liebe*Detail's 'Spezial' offshoot label, along with the equally moving track 'Salt City', to yet more praise. It seems these two projects really summed up Matthias' inner love not only for serious grooves, but real drama in his music. These are tracks full of uplifting, positive sentiments, painstakingly designed so that their sound and message comes through as clear as possible.

Matthias has broken through into spotlight thanks to his uniquely passionate take on the house and techno genres. His love of rich, energetic club music full of texture, life and heart propels him to work more and more. His work as a Dj allows him to bring this very human, endearing quality to an increasingly large audience.

In his eyes, the great joy of Djing house music is that, unlike in so many other scenes, he doesnt need to play pop hits to get dancefloor recognition. Instead, he can spin a long tale of rolling grooves and evolving, emotive musical stories that provoke a different, inner relationship between DJ and dancer.

As we launch into the 20th instalment of our Watergate Mix series, it seems only fitting that we turn to one of our own artists to commemorate the milestone. A man already well known for his poignant and impassioned productions and DJ sets, we are thrilled to present Matthias Meyer as the next master of controls on Watergate 20! 

Over the course of 80 minutes, Meyer skillfully navigates through boundless sonic spaces of lush melodics, organic grooves and sentimental sensations with an effortless approach. From the very beginning, emotions run deep as the sound of rain and strings on Kettenkarussell's 'Ten Friends' sets the stage as YokoO & Retza's exclusive track 'Satori' and Leafar Legov's 'Tribal Girls' establish the percussive tone of the mix. The journey really begins to unfold when back to back exclusive tracks; Gorje Hewek & Izhevski's 'Turgoyakk' and Matthias' own 'Uluwatu' take over. As the mix picks up steam tracks from Palms Trax, Langenberg, Hyenah and another exclusive from Meyer himself provide the perfect momentum that drives us into the deeper side as the mix takes a turn towards the final stretch. The alluring sounds of Marco Resmann's 'Fluid Of Life' and Innervisions' Orchestral mix of Underworld's 'Crocodile' set the stage for a stunning farewell as Patlac's remix of Matthias' 'Ostinato' and Traumprinz' twist on Efdemin's 'Parallaxis' bid us adieu in a manner reminiscent of a 'Northern Exposure' mix from masters like Sasha and Digweed. 

From start to finish, Meyer displays his sound and range with a masters touch, demonstrating exactly the reason for his highly in demand status.

US "House Music" is being born!

Mix with tracks from "Ten City"'s album "Foundation". "Ten City" used to perform at the famous Warehouse club in Chicago which gave its name to "House music". 

Released in 1989, it is at the crossroads between Disco, R&B and House music. It has electronic overtones, but it isn't quite there yet. Expect funk, vocals, warmth and soul in this trip down memory lane with hits such as "That's the way love is" or "Devotion".
