We are coming back with our second compilation of electronic music BOCTOK 2. This release follows the main label stance – discovering and promotion of young and upcoming musicians from local scenes of Lugansk and Donetsk, as well as Donbass diaspora. Compilation consists of 22 exclusive tracks of wide stylistic spectrum: from abstract noise, ambient and industrial techno to synth-wave, post-trap and IDM.

On the outskirts of Europe from the ruins of a decaying industry, under incinerating steppe sun and between frozen military conflict, comes a new generation of musicians and artists with strong attitudes. Despite obstacles of pandemic and war, BOCTOK 2 generates the emotional potential of creative friendship in the post-truth world.

“More Stubborn” is a debut album by Lugansk-based musician limlimsen.

limlimsen is the main representative of algorithmic abstract electronics on the Donbass scene. His sound is a manifestation of a unique subversive view on the mainstream from an isolationist perspective. “More Stubborn” is an invitation to multiple-folded soundscapes of glitched and minimalistic textures rendered by brain-scanning beats. The 13th episode of "Sound of BOCTOK" will start this Sunday at 10 pm СET, hosted by @ochi_ua resident @postal-fak from Lysychansk. Direct quote from the musician: “All my life I was surrounded by factories and mines, most of which have been abandoned or destroyed, but this post-apocalyptic industrial atmosphere stuck in my head like a rusty nail. The idea of doing noise art came to me quite organically. I wanted to convey the feeling of abandonment around me, and the noise format was perfect for me as a method of communication without words. The mix is composed of various field recordings, my own tracks, and various sounds that remind me of home and the distance from it. I can call myself an "artist" in the broadest sense of the word. I am the founder and curator of the "Gareleya Neotodryosh" project. I work with digital and analog photography, archival materials, and mixed media. I am also a resident of the OCHI label“. Direct quote from the musician: “Hello, World. The purpose of this mix is to immerse you in the audio-memoirs of a Donbas resident. Only through sudden flashes of emotion during the endless chaotic scroll of its past can one feel the pain of loss and the hope for a brighter future, which is fading rapidly in the conditions of an ongoing war. For many residents of Ukraine, particularly those in Donbas, in fact, nothing more is left in this life - close connections, material aspects, and the very path home have been erased by war. In such a situation, all that remains for a person is to increasingly immerse themselves in the abyss of nostalgia for bygone times and people, whether sitting under occupation, forced into emigration, or in the trenches on the front line. At times, it seems to me that only through music can one peer into the soul of a person, but the right to decide whether this is true or not in this case, I leave to you“.

Lugansk Сontemporary Diaspora presents debut release by leitmotiv.
“Womb” is a six-tracks EP that unfold different facets of leitmotiv oeuvre – from avant-garde and club deconstruction to reconsideration of dance music and EBM. Blasting and tough sound oriented toward live performance is enriched by atmospheric and melodic touches.

All tracks were recorded at leitmotiv home studio with heavy usage of soviet analogue synthesizer Polivoks and unique modular bass-synthesizer Donbass, which was built in Donetsk by engineer Illya Sidorenko.
