Ridin' Waves EP

Black Seven frontmen Dave and Mike, A.K.A BRODYR, return to their spiritual home for a long-awaited legacy release this summer. Giving us a slice of the foundational elements of one of Tech House’s fastest-rising labels, the Welsh duo turns in a trio of tracks built around a bed of cadent rhythms and sophisticated musicality.

‘Label Magic’ gets things moving with a core of punchy drums, swinging hat grooves and subtly layered percussion. Its racy bassline adds even more movement to the mix whilst an array of synths orbit the track alongside an introspective vocal.

‘Give A Dub’ comes next, bringing a unique late-night feel from the outset. Gently jackin’ drum work and shuffling hat sequences sit alongside a chorus of rich synth lines, vivid organ licks, rippling vox cuts and a catchy bassline melody.

‘No Sugar’ completes the release in true BSM fashion with a nostalgic twist. A certified big-room roller from the start, its driving low-frequency components are dusted off with copious instrumental flair and arpeggiating tones from beginning to end, whilst a cleverly worked vocal topline adds an undeniable air of familiarity.

 The title track combines the mystical with the industrial, employing a mechanical groove and clanging percussion with eerie vocals and haunting samples. &#8220;Take Me&#8221; goes for a more sparse approach, with dubby chords and a crackling rhythm section, while analog bass and a vocal phrase from the shadows provide extra suspense.<br />
 &#8220;Come Around&#8221; is a bit more esoteric, with delayed vocals adding to the haziness, and playful percussive leads trading roles with contemplative synths and subtle stabs.</p>

Talented producer and versatile DJ, Emery Warman, has become a VIVa favourite in recent years following the notable 2016 release of Heavy Duty Dolls EP on the LIMITED label. We are, therefore, thrilled to announce Warman’s first VIVa MUSiC release with this 3-piece in Godzilla EP.

Since his musical pilgrimage from Hungary to London, Emery Warman has quickly found his feet within the house and techno scene. Immediate success after his debut release ‘Get Funk’ in 2014, and two Beatport Genre Chart Top 10s ensued plus residencies in the capital and Ibiza.

Early support took Warman by surprise as the likes of Marco Carola, Richie Hawtin, Joseph Capriati and Paco Osuna quickly appreciated his refreshing take on tech house. Carola and Capriati regularly dropped Warman’s tracks at Music On events, highlighting the Hungarian’s production quality and riveting potential.

The endorsement and support of Stefano Noferini has been central to Warman’s productive development and many of the Hungarian’s best tracks can be found on the former’s Deeperfect record labels. Other notable labels accommodating Warman’s EPs comprise, Laspus Music, Natural Rhythm, The Room and D Floor including his own imprint, Noexcuse Music.
