The Crystal Ark return with a double pack 12” containing some wildly engaging, stripped-down mixes of 4 tracks from their 2012 debut album on DFA. Contains brand new extended versions of the songs Rain, Paradise, Ascension, and We Came To.

The band has the following to say about these remixes:

“Mixing The Crystal Ark album was a deep process. Viva Ruiz and I spent a month in the studio with Matt Thornley and as we mixed the tracks we discovered that certain parts of them sounded so wonderful and driving when stripped down that we did some extra mixes to highlight this aspect. It felt connected to the "Dub" or "Techno" mixes you'd find on late 80's - mid 90's dance 12"s, which were often much more pounding than the original versions of the tracks, more geared to the dance floor than the radio.”

The cosmic-pop french producer Sofian Rouge comes back a few month after the release of his "Floating" mini-album with this remix EP on Global Warming Records. First, one of our favorite italian dj and producer Fabrizio Mammarella (head of Slow Motion Records and of mysterious disco-influenced electronic projects as Telespacio or Black Spuma) gave us a killer slow and dark version of « Starglazer », shaped for cold nights, obscure sets and sweaty clubs. Same track choice to remix for JMII, spanish producer discovered on John Talabot’s Hivern Discs crew. He brings us to his own universe with deep synths and analog house with this remix that sounds like a soundtrack to space-travel. And as bonus we have a dub version of Cylene 8 by Sofian himself.

Sofian Rouge - Starglazer (Fabrizio Mammarella Remix)

Rotten City Edits was born with the intention to rescue some good tracks from the past and give it to them a contemporary touch focused on the dancefloor. Wolfstream are the openers of this free download series. This russian electronic music duo consists of a drummer Anton Berezin and a multi-instrumentalist Grigoriy Babak. They have been forged as an artists in wintry St. Petersburg and absorbed the cold of abandoned manufactories and the sound of empty railroad depot. This time the track choosen is Without Sex from Josef Garret the alter-ego of Patrik Fitzgerald, an english folk-punk singer. Wolfstream share his passion of searching new declaration forms of things that bother his mind. The way he experiments with sound while remaining true to himself is very close to their hearts.

Lithuania’s Greyscale returns this December with Ohrwert’s ‘Fidelis / Blavus’, backed with remixes from XDB and grad_u. 

Greyscale was launched in 2012 by Lithuanian producer and DJ grad_u, and photographer Rima Prusakova, set up as a platform for material from grad_u and close friends whilst Prusakova’s black and white analogue photography provides the visual identity of the label. 

The original mix of ‘Blavus’ opens the EP, perfectly setting the tone with murky, ethereal atmospherics, billowing dub echoes, modulating percussion and thunderous drums before DubTechno stalwart XDB strips things back a little with soft touches of the originals airy drones 
tucked away in the depths whilst choppy stabs and dynamically unfolding analogue rhythms wander throughout. 

The second original from Ohrwert opens the flip-side, upping the energy levels slightly with hooky stab-sequences, filtered delays and hypnotic melodies running alongside a sturdy percussive foundation. Lastly to round out the release grad_u reworks ‘Blavus’ into a more 
groove-driven workout, employing shuffled hats, looped dub chords and bumpy sub-bass hits throughout.
