“Tell me how we would go on living”': you can consider these words as an essence for our new compilation Hyperboloid 2022. We have taken them from the lyrics of a new song by Gleb Raumskaya. Here you will find all the musical answers to the question of the musician from Omsk. Echoes of jungle, trance, breakbeat, ambient, hip-hop, bass and hyper-pop mix here into a whirlwind of feelings and styles. The collection starts with a farewell: our old friend Cadeu says goodbye to the departing year with ciao. 
You can find a lot of familiar names here: Pixelord, Famitsu, Summer of Haze, Koloah and Max Dahlhaus released their records on Hyperboloid this year. Long-time residents of the label SP4K, BOGUE, Sangam, Zakladki, Fisky and Nphonix are also represented with their special tracks. Sport DJ and ellija, new producers on our label, introduce themselves as the fresh blood of Russian electronic music. And our fellow labels Aelita, Fuselab and INTERNETGHETTO send their regards through New Sylveon, WOLS, Broosnica, Dead Xice, PORTWAVE, Circuit Aesthetics and 3XPERIENCE.

BOGUE - Oil & Water

This track is a remix of the original "Naked Ways" by Freska and Tot Gabrielle. It features a blend of electronic and doom metal influences, with a hint of goth pop. The track starts off with a slow and atmospheric intro, building up to a heavy and powerful verse with distorted guitar riffs and a driving beat. The soft vocals add a sense of vulnerability and emotion to the track, making it a standout on the EP. The Haarps version of "Naked Ways" offers a unique perspective on the original, giving it a darker and more intense feel. It's an excellent example of how elements of different genres can come together to create a fresh and compelling sound.

Freska, Tot Gabrielle — Naked Ways (Haа́rps Remix)

We're not in the habit of quoting press materials all the time, but in Kajetan Łukomski's case, it feels appropriate. The first sentence of his bio is "Avtomat is a person with way too many interests." If you know any artists from Poland's wide-ranging, always-growing electronic music scene, chances are he's one of them. He's a DJ, producer, organizer and activist, once a member of the queer feminist collective Oramics, and is endlessly passionate about supporting, spreading and playing music from the Central European and Eastern European regions.

With roots in metal, goth and electroclash, there's a certain spikiness to Łukomski's style, but also a polyglot knowledge and a hunger for new sounds. Lately he's been trying to mix club music with Polish folk traditions, which is the mission of Łukomski's RA Podcast, but it's also just the jumping off point. In these almost four hours of expert blending, genre-jumping and incredible pacing, Łukomski touches on almost every style of dance music you could think of, with aplomb and occasionally surprise (like that irresistible Bloc Party edit). If you can, it's worth digesting all in one sitting, so you can truly appreciate the ground he covers.

Dogx is an alter ego entity from Yogyakarta, a metalhead who used to be a death metal drummer back in 2009. As per now, he’s working as a visual artist, and ghost producer. While broadening his encyclopedia of sounds, he has a perspective on life that is contrary to what should be within normal limits. He is a shadow that eats all human sins, chews them, drinks them, licks them, and vomits them out in the form of sound frequencies because for him sound is something that can coexist with the human subconscious or conscious mind.

'The X' was born to bring taboos to light through sound so we can think and feel to control them before they become something we do in real life and hurt someone. Destruction leads to a very rough road but it also breeds creation if we learn about it. But nowadays condition, death may be the final frontier but it is set in hypocritical boxes.

"X" can stand for false, restricted, wrong, or bad, but in math, it stands for multiple. Those roles are connected by how good the "x" is fabricated according to our perspectives, we have seen the good and the bad of this society, depending on our viewpoint, right or wrong.
Dogx manages to translate this mundane insanity into five heavy neck-breaker tracks that mash gabber, club-ready, drum ’n’ bass, with a hint of traditional instruments. From the vicious hard drum combined with satanic chants “Xalasix” and the gabberish club slompret (traditional trumpet) “Xalera”, to the uptempo riddim breaks “Xin” that builds more tension to “Xolophob” that bring fast-paced breaks and pounding bass, while “Xoxox” give some downtempo rhythms layered with a tormented howl for the terrific closing. Dogx perfectly pours his personal feelings, perspective, and phobia through this album theme.

[Premiere] Dogx - Xalasix (Earflux)

Hypnotic and melodic trip-hop performed by k1k1 from NEDOSTUPNOSTЬ, whose single "Remember" was recognized by the editorial team of Yandex.Music as a breakthrough in Russian electronic and pop music, and by the digital nomad Haárps, a signee of the Hyperboloid and #INTERNETGHETTO labels.

k1k1's strong female vocals intertwine with Haárps' musical accompaniment, achieving the sound of a sinking ship breaking into pieces. The combination of bass music, industrial and new r'n'b, like a mix of Lorn, Godflesh, and FKA Twigs, immerses the listener into the dark depths of doomed relationships.

'Sooriya' isn't a direct follow-up to 'Qualia' though it fulfils the current chapter of BOGUE naturally. Same gear, same attitude, same genres but from a slightly different perspective.
