Prophecy ep

Paul Movement’s Brain Network imprint continues to grow from strength to strength with its 22nd release, the mighty Prophecy EP from Afterlife. The EP is Afterlife’s 3rd release on the label, following up Haters/Fist Of Fury and Trouble/Submarine Sonar, and shows off the artist’s growth and development. The four tracks on the EP range from dark to darker still, and illustrate that Afterlife is not afraid of taking the sound into a new and thrilling direction.
The title cut leads things off, with an electro-neuro edge, and a timeless energy and pulse which will see it leading the charge for this new release. Reacting off a lowered bass range, the hum of the track is infectious, with the drums powering through the bass and the melody wending its way through the track. Prophecy has plenty of lifts, and its overall feel is one of precision, malice and an infectious groove. It’s swiftly followed by the dark, simmering Blind Monk, where things get seriously slow and low, with a sludgy, morphing bassline pinning down to a minimal bass from where the producers explore everything that is creepy and shadowy.
Parasite is an equally evil beast, twisting and turning its way into your brain. The track radiates from a central core, punishing you with some pure bassline madness, evolving into a tune of evil electronic beauty. Warping, pulsing, Parasite heads straight for the face, never giving up and continually punching its way to total domination. Afterlife prove once again that they are not in the business of messing around, this one is total fire from start to finish.
The EP is rounded off with Photon, which features Binarize. Arguably the best track of the selection, this menacing monster is hardwired to rip the fabric of space and time, and replace it with an entirely new world order. Funky and flowing, Photon will work perfectly in the mix, growing and increasing as it goes along.
The Prophecy EP is vital, so make sure you make it a part of your life. Essential.
