"Following on from co-­compiling one of 2012’s best received compilations ‘Into The Light: A Journey into Greek Electronic Music’, new Amsterdam based record label ‘Music From Memory’ sets sail with a compilation of lo-­‐fi beach funk and lazy synth jams from the Rhode Island keyboardist and ocean loving Leon Lowman.

As well as a devoted painter and surfer of the East Coast, the synthesizer loving Lowman privately released two albums “Syntheseas” (1980) and it’s follow up cassette only “Sound Horizon” (1982). Something of a homage to his love of the local seashore and the women he was trying to woo there, the albums also express Leon's pure love of the synthesizer sound and reflect his unique melodic wanderings.

With Leon's albums meeting little commercial success at the time of there release, both albums have in recent years become highly sought after. Along with previously unreleased material from the time, “Liquid Diamonds‘ highlights Leon Lowman's unique blend of low fi synth funk and surf ambience."

Joe has been releasing music on some of the best UK labels of the moment including EDSC and Is It Balearic? and now the man from Clandestino is back with the follow up to his last EP just in time for summer. Tropical Highway follows the same format with one deep house houser and two gorgeous balearic nodders.
"Always" leads the pack and is aimed at that 3am moment when you're parked in front of the speaker and living for the moment. Crisp reverbed percussion and a shuffling sub lay the foundations for keys that look towards Detroit. An old school sample helps build the track with strings and pads until the drop is reached and not a moment too soon, that kind of intensity can only be kept up for so long! Then it's back down to the business of getting stuck in.
"Elysium" has a side chained chorused pad, gentle percussive keys, strings, a trippy vocal sample and the only thing missing is the sound of the lapping sea. It weaves it's hypnotic magic as the synths and pads play counter melodies off each other sounding like a lost 90s Cafe Del Mar classic which is no bad thing in our book!
"Fireflies" carries on the same tip with filtered pads that are heavy on atmosphere as the bass moves around them. A stabby synth pushes the track along as the drums build and drop with the keys giving it that balearic hook.
So when you're watching the sun go down and enjoying the perfect Ibiza / Croatia / Thailand / Yorkshire (delete where appropriate) moment , the Tropical Highway EP will be the soundtrack!

Beats of All-Nations: Seasons Change is a 13-track feature compilation of beats and compositions. On this collection we are revisited by artists whom we’ve worked with in the past, and several of which making their Beats of All-Nations debut. Following the success of his album In the Moment, Makaya McCraven, a pioneer in the new jazz era offers the live-drum heavy “Midman.” Bombay Da Realest, producer of Blu’s Good to Be Home album, hits hard with the funk inspired “Dig This”. Sev Seveer, the highly creative abstract hip hop manufacturer of our first official release, Constant Elevation: Odessa Star, returns with vocalist Megiapa on the vibed out “C.S.G.” International sounds however are not forgotten by Co. Fee on the Brazilian inspired “White Sands.” The compilation comes complete with exclusive artwork designed by Deladeso. 

Beats of All-Nations, founded by Mike Styles in 2009, did not set out to be a label, nor have we conformed to that title. We are a community of artists, producers, deejays music and culture enthusiasts. Our operation is small, though we are represented by many with a goal to continuously raise the bar while keeping the art diverse and the vibes just right. We feature artists you may already love, but especially those you may have never heard before. Along the way, we have given independent artists a voice and an open space to create while introducing them to new audiences. Beats of All-Nations’ very own Porchlite gets busy on the smoothed out “Where are the Roses.” French producer 7even Sun, of our second release Escapologies and our veteran engineer Choco also supply some enlightening rhythms to the project. Co.Fee - White Sands

This unique band (pronounced: oh-wee-nee si-go-mah) is made up of 3 Londoners: 
brothers Louis and Jesse Hackett, and their school friend Tom Skinner and 2 gentleman from Kenya, Joseph Nyamungu and Charles Owoko, both masters of traditional Luo instruments, the Nyatiti and the Nyidoungue Drums respectively. 

The 28th of August will bring the release of their 3rd album ’Nyanza’, for which the group were invited to the Nyanza Province of Western Kenya, the Birthplace of Luo music, and homeland of Joseph and Charles, to record and craft the record closely with the roots of Owiny. 

The creative process of the Owiny Sigoma Band in the past has been crucially intwined by localities, memories and stories, as well as an element of spontaneity from their jam sessions. ‘I Made You / You Made Me’ sung by Jesse is a track inspired by the birth of his daughter. Stirred by hearing “purely happy” African popular music on the radio and taking early morning walks with gospel emanating from the churches Jesse challenged himself to write a joyous pop song.  This track beautifully reflects the ambience and energy of the environments in which it was made, and as well as Owiny Sigoma Band’s raw and organic collaborative process.
