Hailing from Birmingham AL, SaMacca has been a steadily rising force and
tastemaker in the underground sound system music scene. Firmly believing
the sound system is as much of a headliner as any act on the marquee, his
selections are curated to toe the line between amplifier combustion and
dubbed out bliss.
As the owner and operator of Murda One Sound System, SaMacca had had
the honor to introduce sound system culture across Alabama and the South
East. With community as a main focal point of his artistic endeavors, he hosts
a weekly open deck event with Murda One to facilitate community growth
and collaboration. Sam’s emphasis on these principals has allowed him the
privilege to share rooms with such heavy weight systems as Headway HiFi,
Spook Audio Sound System, Hi-Vi Sound System, and more.

5 years ago I was booked at a music festival to play a sunrise set. While I was at the festival I received horrible news that my grandpa passed away. I was devastated. All I could do was grieve and drink in my car wishing I could have been there to say goodbye. I was so overwhelmed I was never able to play the set I put together. Fast forward to about a week ago I was going through my old laptop and happen to come across the exact set folder. I felt it was only appropriate after all this time that I finally record this set in dedication to him. Hope you enjoy it! Thank you for listening.... Love you grandpa
