Maximum Airtime is the new, grassroots imprint from effervescent DJ, producer and all-round scene stalwart Chrissy — expect a steady stream of forward-thinking, genre-hopping, fun and euphoric bangers that bridge dance music’s disparate communities and sounds.

Their first release is a collab between Chrissy and the Chicago-based queer culture-maker, artist, and DJ Mister Wallace (formerly of the group Banjee Report, and now the mind behind the FUTUREHOOD artist collective and record label).

No matter how you classify it (Queer Juke? Chicago Grime? Breakbeat-Rave-Hip-House?), “It's Time To Dance” is a heavy-duty call to the dancefloor that follows in the tradition of the Percolator, the Cha Cha Slide, and the Cupid Shuffle. It's been causing absolute mayhem in both Mister Wallace and Chrissy's sets for the last several months, and it's all topped off with a chuggy techno remix from up-and-coming Mexico City star Paurro.

Experimenting with analog and digital sound sources, NUNU blurs the line between genres, using gritty textures and sound design to deliver 7 tracks ranging from drum driven tools to atmospheric pieces.

'Aviario' is a collaborative EP by Ecuadorian electronic music producers Entrañas and Ene Ese, alongside visual artist Destello. The release coalesces the unique sonic palette, textures and rhythms of Ecuadorian music with the darkness of Club and Bass music. Taking influence from bird species inhabiting the diverse ecosystems of Ecuador, Entrañas and Ene Ese seamlessly transmute delicately layered soundscapes and birdsong into cutting drum patterns, creating invigorating compositions that spotlight the rich musical heritage of Ecuador and its natural environment.

'Aviario' ranges sonically from moments of ambient textural exploration in 'Trogón', to dance floor ready tracks such as the single 'Huiracchuro' where overdriven melodies weave between sultry drums making heavy use of 6/8 polyrhythms found in Ecuadorian genres such as Albazo and Bomba. The third track 'Curiquingüe' features additional composition from producer Zunfo.

The EP is accompanied by six corresponding artworks by Destello, who reimagines the colours and forms of the birds into candescent abstractions.

On clôture ce mois de mars en beauté avec notre 67ème podcast et pour l’occasion nous sommes fiers de recevoir gboi, figure emblématique du 69 qui joue aussi un rôle essentiel au sein de la scène électronique française depuis plus d’une dizaine d'années maintenant.

DJ polyvalent et digger passionné, c’est d’abord aux côtés de Jean Mi et en tant que fondateur de la communauté Chineurs de House (et de ses sous-genres) que l’histoire commence. Aujourd’hui manager de plusieurs labels comme Comic Sans Records (post-club), MAGMA196 (hip-hop), Silure Albinos Fishing Club (ambient) ou encore l’excellent Bad Tips (multigenre), dj résident au sein du collectif 2SIK et directeur artistique sur Underscope œuvrant a donner une meilleure visibilité aux artistes et aux labels français, cet hyperactif a multiplié les casquettes au fil des années. 

Avec le temps, gboi a aussi renforcé son univers artistique afin d’obtenir une signature musicale qui lui est propre, naviguant méthodiquement entre club music, afro et techno. En témoignent ses passages au Positive Education ou plus récemment sur Rinse France, gboi aime s’affranchir des codes, offrant ainsi une expérience sans-frontières qui laisse assurément des traces.

Pour ce podcast il a opéré un travail de fusion comme il en a l'habitude avec un set éclectique garni de pépites, très fortement infusé de vibes afro-caribéennes tout en mêlant bass & techno. Bon appétit l’équipe 🌯
