Caught in the Afternoon Crossfire

(PREFACE) I want to shoutout #lilmizu0 because I changed the original title for this track. I felt that I wanted to make a new song called 2ND Moon for a while because I thought it sounded interesting, but this is as no discredit to the vocalist. Per looperman.com, I was allowed both commercial and non-commercial permissions to his/her vocals, so I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing artist allowing me to get their name out there.

Hello, my limited friends. As I was in the process of producing this track, I contemplated writing some simple pointers (from my own personal experience) that I thought may help some aspiring producers trying to "climb their way up the ladder." This isn't at all say that I've done that - but in my tenure, maybe there are some things that me as an artist can say or do to help other people further themselves? Anyway...

For me personally, my art isn't about getting ahead or trying to make myself look the best. I have a lot of issues with mental health, and in a weird but beautiful way, my music production is how I express that into a common and enjoyable medium. I think my overall goal with music is to make people feel a lot of things. Emotions aren't necessarily positive or negative in my opinion, they are simply there for you to deal with in good or bad ways. If my music makes you feel like lashing out or feeling melanchony or anything else, that's cool. I don't mean to sound preachy but however you feel to express yourself is valid in my opinion.

To sidebar to my music producing friends, the best way is to learn from others and adapt. You don't have to be an exact replica of a famous artist's style to be popular. I mean, on possibly a more cynical attitude, we are already bought out as artists. There's a lot you can do to make yourself groundbreaking as an artist, sure, but a lot of the people we (including me) aspire to become "successfully" is already said and done. And I think that although that may seem pessimisic, it's also not - we can create art in our own distict way and be happy abought bringing ourselves the passion of always trying to make better art and also making others happy.

Furthering on that point in a more practical setting, EDM and other electronic genres have more subgenres than your layman probably understands. One of the most esoteric conversations I have with people goes along the lines of "I'm an EDM producer," and they respond "Oh so your a dubstep artist" or "Oh so you like techno." This isn't necessarily inaccurate, I just feel like most people in my experience don't fully understand that the subgenres of what makes us EDM artists has to include A. The BMP of the music, and B. The Drum pattern either.

Anyway, maybe I've gone too long on one of these tangents again, but my bottom line is this - EDM as a whole still has a lot of new discoveries just waiting to be oncovered by us as producers. You may not necessarily get the most "likes" and "subscribes" but you should imo always be true to yourself, because eventually people are going to look at you with your unique style.
