Celebrating 40 years of electronic music exploration this year saw the re-release of three seminal works by Bernard Fevre (aka Black Devil),  'Suspense' (1975), 'Cosmos 2043' (1977) and the storied 'Disco Club' (1978). Completing this anniversary year Fevre now returns with three EPs featuring new remixes of his 1978 underground cosmic disco hit 'H Friend' from the likes of Andrew Weatherall, GoldFFinch, Turzi and many more.
 
The first EP (released 13 November) is aimed directly at the dancefloor with remixes from Berlin based duo Africaine 808, French Psychedelic Space Rocker Turzi), Sao Paulo’s DJ Tide, and last but not least world famous British Acid House DJ & producer Andrew Weatherall, who contributes the first of two remixes.
 
The second EP (released 27 November) makes more use of the re-recorded vocals by British singer Jo Apps and features remixes from Adelaide based Luke Million, Belgian Techno duo GoldFFinch, Anglo-French rising stars Loframes and the second of Andrew Weatherall’s remixes.
 
The final EP (released 11 December) is especially dedicated to Japan. 45 years after touring the country with his first band Francs Garçons, Bernard returned to Japan in 2015 for his first solo tour of Japan and was amazed by the music a new generation of artists were creating. Featuring remixes from Carpainter, Oorutaichi, Free Disco Permanent Midnight and Sparrows (the solo project of CRYSTAL’s Ryota Miyake), it’s a wildly eclectic set of remixes that perfectly finishes off this set.
 
A pioneering member of France’s electronic music scene in the 1970s, Fevre’s career entered a new phase in the early ‘00s when his ‘Disco Club’ album was rediscovered and reissued by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) on his Rephlex label. Since then Fevre has gone on to be sampled by the likes of the Chemical Brothers   and released several new albums on Lo Recordings collaborating with artists such as Jon Spencer, Afrika Bambaataa, Nancy Sinatra, Faris Badwan (The Horrors), Mondkopf and Daniel Avery.

We live in a world of transmissions. In a flurry and fluster they shimmer across an ethereal plane, filling our modern world to the brim with information. Our next guest, Antenes, specializes in taking these transmissions to a new dimension with her unorthodox methods of musical composition. Utilizing vintage telephone equipment, she shapes and molds sound as if she were a sculptor. Her work on L.I.E.S., and more recently Silent Season, has been met with a resounding praise and for good reason. Antenes is the ethos of the unknown, the sound that became lost between the cracks. With her skills as a DJ parallel to her music, it was only natural that we ask her to transmit something special for UNRUSH. Enjoy!

Depuis 2015 j’ai fais 162 concerts. A chaque concert je faisais des nouveaux morceaux improvisés. Alors quand l’inspi venait c’était stylé, puis quand l’inspi venait pas c’était naze. Mais comme l’inspi, elle prévient pas, dans les deux cas j’enregistrais. A la fin de la tournée, iTunes affichait 8,2 jours de son. Alors j’ai tout réécouté, les moments de merde je les ai laissé, les moments biens je les ai bossé. Et de fil en aiguille devinez ce qui est apparu : un album.

C’est le résultat d’un gros taff et en même temps c’est comme si ces morceaux avaient poussés tout seul
Ils sont tous composés et enregistrés en live, j’ai mis les infos dans les titres des morceaux, vous verrez ya des concerts où j’étais grave sous inspi et puis d’autres où y avait carrément rien à garder.
S’il y a autant de morceaux dans l’album c’est parce que c’est un album hors format (dans le cas où quelqu’un vous poserait la question)
Mais donc comme la plupart d’entre vous auront pas le temps de tout écouter j’ai demandé à des gens qui comptent pour moi ainsi qu’à des gens bons que j’ai rencontré sur la route, de digger dans la tracklist pour vous dire quel titre écouter en premier

The title track of the Just Because LP, Martin Dupont's first record from 1984 which is featured as part of Martin Dupont's The Complete Collection 1980-1988 5 LP linen bound box set, limited to 500 copies.

We are proud to present a five LP box set by the highly lauded French group Martin Dupont. The band formed in Marseille in 1980 and consisted of Alain Seghir, Brigitte Balian, Beverley Jane Crew, and Catherine Loy. They were immensely talented with a rare dynamic between them that was likely inspired by a combination of their magnetic personalities, creative vision and and the home studio where they recorded. The music they made was colorful, enthusiastic and delicate, but also melancholy and mysterious. A mixture of hot and cold, light and dark. They made electronic music that incorporated guitars and clarinets and are described by many as a New Wave band yet they truly transcended genres. In Beverley Jane Crew’s words, “the songs just tumbled out in a completely organic and spontaneous way and as soon as they were recorded on the four track, they were shared with friends on tapes, openly and excitedly.” 

The Complete Collection 1980-1988 consists of all of Martin Dupont’s recorded material to date in the form of five 180 gram vinyl LPs and spans 60 songs recorded between 1980 and 1988. Along with the five LPs, the box contains a 12 page LP-sized full color booklet featuring previously unpublished photographs of the band, their history, and select song lyrics. The box itself is bound in platinum grey linen, with black foil type;  both booklet and box are designed by Peter Miles. All five LPs are pressed on black 180 gram vinyl and feature the original artwork of Yves Cheynet. The box set is limited to 500 copies. Website orders include a signed photographic reproduction of the band and digital download.

We are honored to present the first vinyl reissue of French legends Martin Dupont’s seminal album from 1987, ‘Hot Paradox’. Martin Dupont was originally founded by Alain Seghir in Marseille in 1980. They created electronic music that incorporated guitars, clarinets, and saxophones and is described by many as New Wave yet truly transcended genres. Aside from having been released as part of ‘The Complete Collection: 1980-1988’ 5-LP box set, the ‘Hot Paradox’ album hasn’t been available on vinyl since 1987. It is one of Martin Dupont’s most exquisite albums, illustrating the band’s mastery of synthesizer work, drum programming, and vocal duets. The album is vibrant and emotive, simultaneously somber and bright, theatrical and danceable. It is an essential album in the French cold wave, new wave, and minimal synth scenes, and in recent years, has finally received the recognition it deserves beyond any musical categorization. The Hot Paradox album reissue is pressed on 180-gram black vinyl, is accompanied by the original insert/lyrics sheet, and is housed in a heavy-weight sleeve featuring art by Yves Cheynet. The Hot Paradox LP is now available for pre-order with a release date of October 10th, 2023.

첫 번째 꿈 Kkum 에피소드는 런던의 앰비언트 레이블 Astral Industries의 큐레이터이자 앰비언트 디제이인 Ario의 70분 세트와 함께 합니다. 

Astral Industries의 설립자이자 앰비언트/덥테크노 디제이인 Ario는, 과거의 잘 알려지지 않은 보석과 같은 작품들울 발견해 자신이 설계한 예술적 플렛폼을 통해 다시 선보이는 뛰어난 큐레이팅 능력을 보여주고 있다. 단 몇 년만에 Ario는 AI 레이블을 전 세계적으로 존경받는 레이블로 성장시켰으며, 다음 작품을 손꼽아 기다리는 이들을 아직까지 단 한번도 실망시킨 적이 없다. Ario에 의해 선택되는 음악들은 언제나 깊고 부드러우며, 매우 생동감이 넘친다.
이란 출신의 배경을 지니고 런던에서 활동중인 Ario는 깊고 탐구적인 음악을 섭렵해가고 있는 아티스트이며, 그의 음악은 일렉트로닉 음악의 깊은 그림자 안쪽을 탐색하고 있지만, 레이블 운영에서 드러나는 미적감각은 광범위한 음악 분야에 걸쳐 다양한 스펙트럼을 지니고 있음을 보여주고 있다.
Ario는 보다 어둡고 진지한 사운드들을 유기적으로 믹스하여 상황에 따라 엠비언트와 무거운 클럽 음악 사이의 경계를 오가는 셋을 선보이며, 자연과 기계에서 동등하게 영향받은 사이키델릭한 드론 사운드를 자신의 사운드 스케이프에 투과시키며 청중들에게 일종의 자각(Self-awakening)적인 경험을 제공한다.

The man behind the Astral Industries machine, Ario is a proven expert at plucking obscure gems from the past, or ensuring that good music gets the platform and artistic presentation it deserves. In just a few years, Ario has curated a highly respected and anticipated label roster that demands attention, and has yet to disappoint. The music is always gentle, deep and often extremely vivid, be it deeply hypnotic ambient, or gentle murmurs of dub-techno.
With origins linking back to Iran, London-based Ario is a practitioner of deep and inquisitive music – both as a DJ and label curator. Although his remit falls within the deeper shades of electronic music, his overall aesthetic draws on a broader spectrum that prizes the synthesis of both instrumental and electronic disciplines. Depending on context, he traverses the lines and forms between ambient and heavier, club-ready styles. What is common in both worlds, however, is his alchemic handling of rich organicism mixed with darker, more austere sounds. Speaking with an emotive sensitivity, there is a certain self-awareness that permeates his crafted soundscapes, which are as much drone-inspired as they are psychedelic and nature-driven.

In a time where an overwhelming number of instruments exist, musicians do not often take the opportunity to fully explore the creative potential of each of their instruments.

One Instrument aims to counter-act this tendency by inviting artists to challenge their current creative processes through limiting them to the use of only one instrument of their choice.
