FOUK (@justsayfouk) is our new guest. Fouk is the project of Dutch producers Daniël Leseman & Hans Peeman (Junktion) For Daniel Leseman & Junktion (Hans Peeman), successful producers on their own merits and friends since childhood, a collaboration was inevitable. Their house sound infused with disco and a lot of funk has been proven to be very infectious.

After the infamous Dam Swindle signed them to their Heist imprint and released the booming Kill Frenzy EP their name was established firmly to a broad and quickly growing audience. The result was requests for DJ sets across Europe, the America’s & Australia with personal highlights including Glastonbury, LoveBox, Concrete Paris, Output New York, Club Space Miami, Claire and De Marktkantine in Amsterdam.

Their first vinyl release as Fouk, on their own Outplay Records was met with great enthusiasm, the brilliant reactions to ‘Stuff Your Dad Liked’ and ‘Cat Lady’ propelled Fouk and Outplay firmly into the scene as the ‘one to watch’. Since then they’ve released EP’s on Room With A View, The House of Disco and Razor-n-Tape and made a string of strong remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak, Smoove & Turrell, Groove Armada, The Brand New Heavies, Luke Million, Joey Negro and Mayer Hawthorne.

After releasing ‘Release The Kraken EP’ featuring Thumpasaurus on The House of Disco, ‘Truffles EP’ on Heist Recordings in 2019 and two EP’s on their own Outplay offshoot ’24 Carrot’ they return again on Heist in 2021 with ‘Blue Steel EP’. Continuing to build on the sound they have evolved throughout the years with a new impulse of creativity.

French producer @Taho has already had a pretty spectacular career. Discovered by Laurent Garnier in 1995, Taho released two EPs on the legendary French label F communications at the tender age of 19. He followed this with releases on KMS, Ovum, Delsin and many more excellent labels. He's been heavily supported by a who's who of electronic music including Pete Tong, Gilles Peterson, Carl Cox Dubfire, Frankcois K and Dj Deep. He's a producer who's output is overflowing with quality.

Taho has restarted his well respected @luminarec label with a fantastic V/A compilation Odyssey from which we premiered Etic Seti's intense and euphoric piano house slammer Children of Paradise.

Capping a very special week where Claptone made it onto the main BBC Radio 1 playlist with his Remix for Gregory Porter. Michael Mayer, Purple Disco Machine and Claptone himself now revisit his last single Dear Life.

Back in May, the man with the golden-scooped beak revealed ‘Dear Life’, the first single taken from his debut album ‘Charmer’ (Out Oct 16th). Today we bring you 3 incredible reworkings, featuring Kompakt Recs co-founder and electronic music powerhouse Michael Mayer, super-hot Beatport fav Purple Disco Machine and another special remix from the masked man himself, Claptone. 

The golden scooped beak of Claptone emerges from the darkness with ‘Charmer’, his 13-track debut offering. In the last few years Claptone has become known for releasing big records primed for late nights and packed clubs all over the world. ‘Charmer’ however fuses his signature house sound with a more eclectic aesthetic, featuring guest appearances from Nathan Nicholson (The Boxer Rebellion), Peter, Bjorn & John, Young Galaxy & Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. 

The album will drop following a packed summer touring schedule which will reach all corners of the globe and the run-away success of their remix for Gregory Porter, a tune which has dominated Ibiza this year and was the biggest selling track on Beatport for weeks on end. 

The album also features Claptone’s Beatport chart-topping early singles ‘No Eyes’ & ‘Ghost’, both enormous smashes on essential Berlin house label Exploited. 

While Exploited continues to deliver the club-spinners via Beatport, the album versions will be released via Different Recordings/Pias.
