Fragile

Although its name suggests the presence of a full band, Baby Goliath is essentially the work of singer/songwriter Alan Mitchell. The project began in 2014 in a bedroom on the south coast of England in the seaside town of Hastings with just one microphone. In this room the first acoustic demo’s were produced, drawing influences from the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Eels, Sparklehorse and Grandaddy. A lo-fi element was present from the start, masked in pop sensibility. Baby Goliath was originally a platform to release acoustic versions of songs that didn’t quite make the cut with Alan’s alternative/indie rock band ‘King the Native.’ Over time Baby Goliath has become an established band, taking on a more aggressive sound, but still maintaining the lo-fi attitude towards recording.
