Baylove & the van Dango's sixth studio album got its name because several of the songs revolve around the fact, that so much in our society is being measured purely by financial gain. Daniel Broman, the lead singer and main writer in the band, puts it this way: ”Money is no longer the means to the end, but has become the actual goal itself”. He goes on to describe the album as a comment to modern-day society, that the six bandmembers themselves feels trapped in from time to time. ”We'll do whatever's possible not to get caught in the rat race, but it's not easy when you're past 25.” says Daniel Broman.

Apart from the pensive lyrics, the new album is driven by Babylove & the van Dangos’s musical synergy. With excessive touring during the past 15 years, the band has formed a special bond with both each other and audiences across much of Europe and Asia. Daniel Broman describes it like this: ”As a touring band, we'll leave family and friends to go on the road and meet the audience. That creates a very unique bond both within the band, but also with many of the people we meet on our tours. We've had so many experiences together and met so many people on the road. We'll get a very special feeling when we fire up the old tour bus, walks on stage or record in the studio. We hope that translates to the new album, which we think is the best we've made yet”.

Babylove & the van Dangos is a Danish ska band. The band was formed in 2004 and has toured much of the world since. More than 700 shows in Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, France, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Benelux, Latvia, Germany and Danmark. Babylove & the van Dangos has played Roskilde Festival (2008), Spot Festival (2007, 2012), Skive festival (2010), Smukfest (2010), This Is Ska (2012, 2015, 2019), Berlin City Ska (2015) and Dynamite Ska (2017). In 2012 the band won a Danish Music Award for Best World Live Act. The band has released six studio albums on international labels and appears on a wide range of compilations.

In a world of fast food music and short expiration dates, Babylove and the van Dangos are hellbent on trying to claw their way through the white bread that fills the airwaves, and give an alternative to people who feel that it doesn't quite fill their belly. Babylove & the van Dangos are here to play ska and they don't intend on leaving the stage without being dragged off stage, kicking and screaming.

Since Babylove & the van Dangos first set sail from the salty docks of Copenhagen in 2004, they've managed to place them selves among the top acts of the ska scene. Their music has brought them all over Europe and as far away as the land of the rising sun. They've played over 700 concerts ranging from some of the biggest festivals in Europe to stages not quite suitable for a seven piece band. They've released five studio albums and appeared on numerous compilations. The latest album “The Golden Cage" is released in 2019 and followed by an extensive tour in Europe.

With their roots planted deep in the tradition of early Jamaican music, such as Ska and Rocksteady, Babylove & the van Dangos has let their branches grow wild with out any pruning. Listen closely and you will hear influences from everything from Blues to Doo Wop and the lyrical pendulum swings from political to the abstract. The codeword is timeless music that moves your soul as well as your feet. In the tradition of Jamaican music, this is dancing music and Babylove and the van Dangos is a band you want to catch live since it is through their live performances that they've managed to build a solid fan base through out all of Europe.

Good music doesn't need anything but a hard working band and an audience that will carry them on their shoulders. For this band, miles on the road counts more than Youtube hits. Having a beer after the gig with old and new friends counts more than Facebook fans. And giving the people who have put them where they are today the best live show possible is a duty. In the words of the band itself, "It's a beautiful relationship. We know that the people are always there for us and they know we're always there for them. How could it fail?"
