Jackies Music House Session #233 - "Baccus"

Baccus:
He's a French DJ, producer and singer, passionate about house music with sounds mixing French touch, funk and Disco.
Since his childhood, he trained his voice to learn how to sing. He now uses this talent as a weapon in his productions as well as in his fiery sets. All of this is cadenced with punchy kicks and lively bass lines tailor-made for clubs’ dancefloors and festival’s crowds!
Founder of Groovytude Records, he likes to produce EPs alone and in collaboration with artists such as Oden & Fatzo, Black Loops and Folamour. In Paris’ biggest clubs (Rex Club, Badaboum, La Clairière …) and iconic festival (We Love Green, Into The Woods …), Baccus also likes to share the decks with DJs like Kerri Chandler, DJOKO or even Traumer.
This artist is well anchored in the French House music landscape and also beyond our borders (New York, London, Barcelona, Lisbon …) and always make sure to spread his positivity and energy.

We are delighted to welcome French DJ, producer and singer, Baccus, to the label. You will likely know him from his multi-million streaming, French-touch-meets-disco hit with Oden & Fatzo “Can’t Let You Go”. If not that, then his killer Zara-house cut “Feel Your Soul”, will surely have caught you bopping whilst you’ve been shopping. As you might guess, here he revisits the S.O.S. Band’s classic cut with the help of Elliotte Williams-N’Dure and our disco quartet. Add in Baccus’ glittering guitar licks and some superb live bass and you have a Purple Disco style jam of epic proportions. Poolside magic!

We started this track by building the instrumental around a Moog synthesizer sequenced to a driving beat—a technique favoured by the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Howard Jones. A few days later, the structure was in place, and we added an electronic violin line—but it was crying out for a vocal.  Our favourite Frenchman, Baccus, was already on our radar. We knew he’d be perfect for this French x Italo house vibe. He delivered exactly what we envisioned—the perfect vocal to bring it all together.

Kevin McKay & Baccus, with Elliotte Williams-N’Dure on vocals, rework the Mary Jane Girls’ funk classic for 2025 dancefloors.
