The Space Between Remixes

The Bachelors are back with the first installment of the remix series of their latest album, The Space Between. BoS teamed up with some of their favorite producers in the scene to get their unique take on the tracks.

Dropping straight into one of the album’s standout tracks ­ ‘Satisfy’ ­ ​Bcee & Villem deliver an absolute banger of a tune to start things off. The shimmering vibe of the original kicks off the opening moments, building and building before dropping into a heavyweight bass­fueled roller that is destined to set floors moving.

Up next we turned over the halftime groover ­ ‘Kanto’ ­ to the impeccable production skills of ​Quadrant ​who flipped it into a heavy dancefloor DnB smasher! The track starts with an ethereal reverb­drenched vibe before switching gears into a serious growling bass stepper, with atmospheric piano and pads floating over the top.
Last but not least we hand the reins of the album’s title track – ‘The Space Between’ ­ to the deep and atmospheric wizardry of ​Method One​. An epic sounding intro delves into a chopped up halftime stepper, full of intricate breaks and lush pads before introducing an elegantly simple but effective hook that wraps up the EP.

The Bachelors celebrate the 10th single [16th release] on their Code Recordings label and the second installment of The Space Between LP remix series. This time its wall to wall vibes as we delve into some of the vocal cuts from the album.

First up, we get a slice of impeccable funk from the mighty Random Movement as he takes on the Bachelors, Ben Soundscape and Collette Warren collab ‘On The Line’ . Mike keeps Collette’s silky vocals for the intro before diving into a stripped back soulful floorfiller that’s got those classic RM vibes to set the dance alight.

To close out the last of The Space Between Remix Series due out on 14th November, Bachelors of Science turn over four more prime cuts to some of the freshest producers in the scene including Bladrunner, Jaybee & Dave Owen, Flaco, The Insiders to give them fresh licks. 

Our Debut Transmission today is from Jaybee & Dave Owen as they take the delicate “Cartier” and turn it into a rugged liquid roller. Soulful vocals play against the cut up guitar hook of the original as it slinks and slides its way over a tech­ fuelled bassline.

To close out the last of The Space Between Remix Series , we turn over four more prime cuts to some of the freshest producers in the scene. First up, we take one of the most memorable jams from the album, dubwise roller “Backfoot Dub” featuring long time BoS family member the Emcee Child. We turn remix duties over to one of the 
masters of jungle riddims the mighty Bladerunner. Wasting no time at all, the tune drops into thick amen beats before introducing the skatinged horns of the original. 

From there we go straight into a monster Reese bassline that’s setting floors alight. Up next, Jaybee & Dave Owen take the delicate “Cartier” and turn it into a rugged liquid roller. Soulful vocals play against the cut up guitar hook of the original as it slinks and slides its way over a techfueled bassline. 

For our third remix track, we go into the moody “Don’t Hold Back” . For this cut, one of the most promising producers in the North American scene, Flaco takes things deep with a complex blend of pads over crisp claps and rolling beats. One for the sunrise vibes, he keeps the lush vocals of Dylan Germick strong throughout the track. 

To close out the EP, we turn our heads to Bristol as The Insiders take the tune “Control” into darker territory. Crisp hats ride along the intro as the track builds before dropping into an old school rugged bassline stepper reminiscent of the jungle roots of their hometown.

Formed in 2005, the group has carved out an unmistakable signature sound that spans the full emotional scope of the genre. From deep liquid over to the harder dance floor sounds of DnB, BoS have retained their musical quality and a loyal following, picking up a Beatport award for Best Drum n Bass single and several features on BBC Radio 1 while garnering DJ support across the scene from artists like LTJ Bukem, High Contrast, Friction, S.P.Y, Spectrasoul, Doc Scott, Bryan Gee, Marky, and many more.

Having released music on labels like Spearhead, Dirtybird, Fokuz, Horizons and Intrigue, in 2012 they launched CODE Recordings as an outlet for their music as well as standout productions from some of the top artists in the DnB scene.

On stage BoS bring an energy and vibe that is all their own. From top clubs like Fabric and Ministry of Sound to festivals and events such as Tomorrowland, Sun and Bass, Hospitality and Liquicity, the guys regularly perform around the world taking crowds on a unique journey with everything from originals and bootlegs to custom edits of cutting edge tracks and past future classics.
