HRDF: Who are you ?
GG: Gael Juárez aka Gael Gael, DJ and producer from the city of Puebla, Mexico.

HRDF: How did you discover this track ?
GG: I have always been passionate about music and, one day while exploring Discogs, I came across this song that seemed quite avant garde for it to be from 83.

HRDF: Why do you choose to edit it ?
GG: Because I like the mix of genres combined within the track which are some musical references that I like like hip hop/electronic music. The melodies mainly seemed fascinating to me so I decided to take the most interesting parts and imagine editing it in my style to give it more dynamics for the dance floor.

HRDF: What are your upcoming plans ?
GG: Working on original music for upcoming releases and keep making edits... I love edits! Stay tuned.

Back upstairs in the loft and another one from tape archive...and a fierce one reared it's head again from DJ/Artist/Producer that really left some stunning house music in his legacy and was a bad boy DJ as well as producer even back then...Mr Bobby Konders. Bobby laced us with now classic tracks like his House Rhythms Ep...feat Nervous Acid and the deep house classic The Poem. Also his work on Massive B are also classics in the deep house sound. Bobby really delivered the sound of Deep House as I and many remember going out dancing and buying house music from 89-91-92 would remember. Very dreamy moody tracks that sway perfectly in the 5-7am zone at that ideal/dream party I have in my head...I know I'm not alone in those thoughts...Here we hear Side B of Bobby in the mix for his show back on WBLS New York in 1989, featuring many jams from back then and even earlier inc some heavy digital reggae music that Bobby is connected to now in his career...some great mixes and moods that Bobby creates in the mix. Bobby as far as I know is pretty much a pure Reggae man now...something that was always apparent in his earlier house music and DJ mixing, Bobby played some choice New York parties back then inc House Nation and Wild Pitch and even visited the Ministry Of Sound in it's first year. This one has some jams for sure..Bobby showing his blends in this varied genre and killer show.

HRDF: Who are you?
D: I am Dacou, a DJ/producer based out of Toronto. 

HRDF: How did you discover this track?
D: I saw a local ad in Toronto for somebody wanting to get rid of some old Arabic cassette tapes, so naturally I was curious. Turns out it was an elderly gentleman who had them, and they had belonged to a lady from Egypt who he was in love with over thirty years ago. Unfortunately things didn’t work out between them and she went back home, leaving their love unfulfilled. He never saw her again and these tapes were all that were left of her, but in his old age he felt it was right to pass them on. This tape was amongst them. 

HRDF: Why do you choose to edit it?
D: After discovering this song and coming to know it was in fact a love song, a declaration of love - I thought it was a fitting ode to the gentleman who had given me the tapes, while serving as modern dance-floor friendly refresher of a great Algerian Raï track. 

HRDF: What are your upcoming plans? 
D: To keep digging for gems and dropping betters!

We had a chat with Guling, Indonisian producer that we met two years ago.

HRDF: how did you discover that track?

Guling: This edit is a tribute to the orignal tracks Bom Nuklir by legendary Indonesian islamic girlband called Nasida Ria, to keep rephrase their message about spreading peace & love to each other, making health therapy by using organic products, rather than having a nuclear power that maybe be a potential to annihilate everyone.
Nasida Ria is very familiar to most Indonesian people, it is played anywhere on TV and radio during Ramadan fasting month.
There was a legendary "Qasidah" girlband in Indonesia. Qasidah was a genre that blends pop music with arabic and muslim culture.

HRDF: why did you choose it for an edit?

Guling: I choose it because most of Indonesian youth were shamed to listen to their music. It wasn't cool, more like a kitsch taste for them. But I want to keep rephrasing their message in today's context, and also to keep bangin' it into the dancefloor hahaha!

HRDF: what do the song's lyrics mean exactly?

Guling: They tell us to keep spreading love to each other,  by planting more plants to save the world or create a medication therapy by using it as an alternative way. Instead of provoking nuclear war.

I think the message works for today's situation. We're not facing a nuclear threat, missiles or something like that anymore. We are facing a virus that can kill anyone.  
In the end, although we facing this shitty situation - we can't go out, we can't make plans, no gig, all tour cancelled - we still need to spread love. To me, it also means that it's time to give rest to mother earth, as it is also said in the song.
