Backbenchers is an upcoming Burmese producer and DJ duo with Pyae Phyo (Luke) Aung and Htoo Myat Naing. These 19-year-olds from the UK and Myanmar have been working together since 2019, where they met in high school as backbenchers in class and was also the place where the idea of the alias was born. Since then, they started producing together and eventually discovered their own unique sound and signature style. Now, Backbenchers mainly focus on bass and electro house, but they have also been combining these two genres together with their own touch. They are also exploring other different genres and might possibly release several tracks out of their home genre. Their work has also been supported by various artists across the world, with songs appearing in several blog articles, radio shows and clubs. The duo was also previously part of Future House Music’s Pro Producer Programme where they improved their audio engineering proficiencies in late 2021.

The two have also founded a record label named “Crammed Recordings” at the start of 2021. The label focuses on bringing underground talent onto the international scene and supporting not only their tracks but also their careers across different genres. Though the duo has been on a break from releasing music for a year, they have been working hard to bring out new music and are ready to dominate the house scene in the coming years.
