An Isolated Robin Redbreast

I rigged up a MixPre 6 and a JrF Contact Mic - sliding the contact mic between snow and a steel sheet, fastening it down - I believe the only crackle you will hear on this recording is the snow melting. The other noises are the water droplets hitting the stainless steel fire escape and a solitary Blackbird. I am amazed that the Contact Mics picked up the Blackbird - maybe the whole structure it was sellotaped to acted as a parabola?

I *think* this is the drum of a Greater Spotted Woodpecker. I could not see the bird, so, I am relying on the birds I have seen. Recorded at De Greys Woodland, near Ripon North Yorkshire.
