Zwei Tage nach der Sendung gab es in den Redaktionsräumen von Radio Dreyeckland eine Hausdurchsuchung. Daher hier nochmal das dazugehörige Statement:

In der zweiten Sendung von Radio Impuls war Pauli aka schnucki47 zu Gast (https://soundcloud.com/schnucki47). Sie ist ebenfalls Mitglied der Impuls Crew und legt nun schon seit einigen Jahren in Freiburg auf. Zusammen haben wir einige FLINTA*-Artists vorgestellt, die wir im Jahre 2022 für uns entdeckt haben. Dazu haben wir einige (mehr oder weniger aktuelle) Releases vorgestellt, angehört und uns darüber unterhalten. Anschließend spielen wir gemeinsam ein DJ-Set, indem auch diese Künstler*innen natürlich nicht fehlen dürfen - darunter LCY, Zora Jones, Flore und NVST.

Bei "Radio Impuls" geht es grundsätzlich um elektronische Musik. Im Zentrum stehen dabei die Neugier für den Sound, die Geschichte und die Entwicklungen von experimentelleren Genres, die sich an den Grenzen der Clubmusik entwickeln. Im Fokus stehen die Fragen, wie verschiedene Subgenres sich gegenseitig beeinflussen, wie dies mit der subkulturellen Szene, bestimmten Künstler*innen, Labeln und Orten zu tun hat. Auf der Sound-Ebene ist die Sendung damit die Fortsetzung dessen, was die Impuls Crew in Freiburg durch Auflegen und das Veranstalten von Partys unter anderem beabsichtigt: Neugier zu schaffen, um neugierig zu bleiben für andere, neue Left-Field-Sounds innerhalb der elektronischen Clubmusik.

On their second volume, @jungist, co-founder of @decayau, drops her 'Presence', co-produced at the @dunjsyd studios alongside @swisherman. It gives us a cold and grimey vibe. This is exactly why we premiere/ promo tracks like this, often hidden in wicked compilations of tracks...

[PREMIERE] Jungist - I've Lost Something

The heart. The core of it all. A bloody, meaty muscle the size of a fist, pumping perpetually. Working, all day, everyday, against the clock. Nature’s own metronome. Sometimes you feel it throbbing in your throat, spasmodic, wanting to escape. Occasionally it explodes in warmth, sending sharp little electric needles of euphoria through the body. Now and then it sinks down to the stomach, acid, heavy like lead.

And one day it breaks — it is broken —, it shatters, quartered as if pulled apart by horses. It hurts. And the sharp pain, imploding, feels inescapable. A solitary ache, a blow, a deep hole which cannot be seen or explained. But you try to mend it. You reach for the glue and the duct tape. You pick pieces of gut and tripe and patch it back together. You shield it and harden it with leftover scrap metal. As long as it’s running.

Could heartbreak hardcore become a subgenre? A cathartic, visceral style nudging itself into the tradition of the hardcore continuum, written and produced by heartbroken musicians?

Heartbreak is the painful devastation left behind by the fact that we are no longer one. Most of us don’t know what to do with it. There is no funeral, no mourning. The capitalist structures which surround and smother us have no cure, no solution for heartbreak. There is no time for it: pain is not productive. That is: we cannot value it as we value a commodity, unless it is deeply enmeshed in layers of meta-post-ironic subterfuge, lest we seem vulnerable. Abstraction upon abstraction, we’ve forgotten what pain is and we’ve tried to hide it. Violet does not, because she cannot. Her approach is violent, immersive, euphoric sincerity. That’s the only way to escape.

Ode to Olive is a release, event and fundraising project initiated and curated by proud Wiradjrui/Ngunnawal man LANDFILL and platformed via MEGANESIA.

Honoring his late Grandmother and matriarch of the family, Olive, and with all proceeds from the project going to Wirringa Baiya and Deadly Connections, this project has been brought together from artists that LANDFILL not only admires for their artistry, but also their outward support for his people’s self determination and healing.

Artwork for the release has been contributed by Naarm based visual artist, Yugambeh and Kuku Yalnji man Nicholas Currie.

Jungist is Hong Kong born, Eora based DJ, producer, promoter. Their sonic palette is organic, gritty, and dynamic - facilitating closed eye moments and dance floor introspection. 

Co-founder and director of Decay Audio, Jungist offers a platform for artists to take on a dark and experimental aesthetic with their events and mix series. Boosting the local scene and plugging international sounds, the mix series has become a much loved staple in the community and a place for discovery and uninhibited self expression. 

Jungist's debut release 'Dark Room' came out in 22' and features on the Bass Water Freak Out compilation. Since getting on the DAW, Jungist has since released 'I've Lost Something' on Melbourne based label Back Pocket Slammers and 'Presence' under the collaborative moniker 'Swungist' with Sydney based artist Swisherman.
