Just playing around with the Tetris effect soundtrack and Arbhar - Don't know why I just realized that I could hook the key step up to Arbhar and run arps through it.  

not really feeling it for anything more than that tonight.  This is about as raw and unfinished as things get for me.

Hey look, another sketch and not a finished song.  This was really more of a proof of concept for this build, which was another attempt to put something together with a really small modular.   

I recorded a few small loops in logic to use within arbhar, and then sequenced it by pams with help from tain, and then layered everything on the 2HP loop.

The whole idea is that I can use pams to start/stop the recording on the beat and handle simple drum beats (time divisions, euclidian) and also use it in conjunction with a switch to bring in and out looped quantized random sequences on other things, and do it all one layer at a time. 

This is a ton of fun, but there are a couple of problems with it:
  - It's basically a groovebox, but harder to use
  - There's also no way to have more than one layer on the looper, and it's all or nothing

I think this can do a lot more than I've made it, it's only day one with this particular build.    I'm kind of curious to see if I can do something clever with pams to sequence this a bit more.

But it is again becoming clear to me that a finished song is not really something this is set up to do on its own, and my stubbornness on trying to do this with only modular is working against me.

I decided to check out using starlab as a voice.  It's legit. All the choral sounding stuff here is coming from it, I'm running it through a slow delay for "vocal doubling". everything else is coming from the Instruo Ts-L and processing the hell out of it with Melotus/Electus Versio, and using Mimeophon as a voice.

So yeah, technically everything here is coming from an effect with the exception of a single folded wave from the Ts-L

Yes, I know the timing is a bit screwed up.

Not much more than this loop, but we can add that to the "tense movie soundtrack" file.

Novembeat 2021 13 - Doom Doomy Doom Doom

This is the closest thing to a semi generative performance I've done in some time.  More of a fun thing than anything finished, but more finished than anything else I've done this month.

I have better control of the rig now, I just need to figure out how to actually wield that control better.

This was building on the bitshifting/quantizer trick I pulled yesterday, and I ended up not liking the counterpoint as much, so I just played it.

The ridiculous thing is that I'm just playing sliders on this - that's also why it sounds kind of sloppy.
