Bad Date’s third single “SLOWLY” is a bittersweet anthem for anyone who has ever tried to outrun themselves by changing their surroundings - only to find out that the baggage they carry will keep following them. This pop-punk track dives into the endless cycle of self-sabotage, with earnest vocals contrasted against a chugging rhythm section unafraid to colour outside of the lines.
The chorus works as a mantra, trying to repeat to oneself that you should take things easily, but the burden of wearing a mask can only inevitably lead to exhaustion. Overall it’s a song about finding small victories in the ruins of failed priorities—and maybe, about learning how to laugh at the absurdity of it all.
