this one might be favorite madre yet. 
bump for a selection of groove, soul, and afro-latin flavors and a whole lotta live horns and tasty drums patterns. these 90 min were recorded live during my bi monthly set at madre in amsterdam. 

photo on the cover was taken on a road trip with sweet friends in chiapas, mexico circa 2022. the shot was taken with my yashika fx-3 using portra 400 if im not mistaken. both cover and set list graphics were made by me.

It’s funny the things that get to you when witnessing the nightmare in Gaza, out of all the horrors you’ll see there from day to day. Today I saw a video of a six year-old Palestinian boy whose legs had been amputated dragging himself through his tent camp with the help of a roller skate worn on one of his hands, and it just about destroyed me.

Although I have enjoyed the music of Japan and David Sylvian since the mid eighties, I only heard 'Gone to Earth' for the first time in December 2009. Initially I thought it was a bit old and not relevant anymore, but soon it touched me and I played it a lot. Because of its beautifull sound 'Answered Payers' became one of my favorites. Later I felt that I could create a more earthly context for it. So I added a bassline and percussion and played some guitar on top of that. All parts were recorded around the first minute of the original. I enjoyed doing this remix and I'm happy with the result.
