This is my first creation using the Apogee Duet 2 preamp.  Simple instrumental loop with various layers.  Guitars and arrangement done by me, drums by Garageband with a little love from me.  

One of my favorite things to do is get sucked into a musical project in my own space with no distractions.  Making this reminded me of spending hours and days in my mom’s basement making music when I was younger… nostalgic.

Echoes

This song features a hang drum, also known as a hand pan. I bought this drum on my way out of California. My wife and I spent 3 years in the Bay Area and this was the last thing I purchased there. It's brought me a ton of enjoyment! It has a relaxing ambient sound to it and it's actually quite easy to play a melody.

I wrote this tune on the hang drum and then layered the other instruments on top. I attempted to mix the song myself but I wasn't happy with the results. I worked with Second Story Sound to get the mix done, and Reed Recording Company to master it for some extra polish and smoothness. Thanks for listening!
